Falcons guard Trevor Robinson has been excused from the rest of the offseason workouts to deal with a serious family matter, Falcons coach Dan Quinn told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday.
“He’s got a family situation, that’s difficult,” Quinn said. “He’s been excused for the spring and hopefully we’ll have him back for training camp.”
Excluding center Alex Mack and left guard Andy Levitre, only Robinson has started NFL games at one of the interior positions. The Falcons are attempting to fill a vacancy at right guard with the retirement of Chris Chester.
Wes Schweiter and Ben Garland are battling for the spot, but neither have started an NFL game at right guard.
Robinson, who played at Notre Dame, started seven games with Cincinnati (2012) and 14 with San Diego (2014-15) as a center.
