Falcons All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones is the center of a lawsuit between Pat Dye Jr. and Jimmy Sexton, according to AL.com.
It’s possible, if the civil suit continues into the fall, that Jones may be called to a disposition to give his testimony during the season.
Dye, of Atlanta, and Sexton, of Memphis, merged firms in 2010. After the dissolution of the firm, Sexton left to join Creative Artist Agents in 2011.
Dye alleges in the lawsuit Sexton stole key clients, including Jones, when he left SportsTrust Advisors for Creative Artists Agency. Jones was then used to land Trent Richardson and Mark Barron, former Alabama teammates and close friends of Jones, according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit, originally filed on Jan. 6, 2016, has bounced from Georgia State court to Federal court as the sides battle over the proper legal venue.
Dye is suing Sexton for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, fraud, breach of fiduciary duties, violation of trade secrets and tortious interference.
Jones was not accused of any wrongdoing in the lawsuit.
Attempts to reach both Dye’s and Sexton’s attorneys for comment were not immediately successful by Al.com.
