Dedrick Mills has a total of seven carries in his two games Garden City (Kan.) Community College after his dismissal from Georgia Tech. Mills has gained 61 yards on the carries in two victories.

Mills was dismissed from the Georgia Tech football team last month for a violation of team rules. He soon after enrolled at Garden City, a powerhouse in the junior-college ranks that won the national championship last season.

Mills led the Yellow Jackets in rushing last season as a freshman and tied for third nationally among freshmen with 12 rushing touchdowns. He was expected to play a key role for Tech this season before his dismissal.

In Garden City’s season-opening win, 31-7 over Ellsworth Community College on Aug. 24, Mills carried four times for nine yards. That included a lost fumble.

In Garden City’s 27-23 win over Highland Community College on Sept. 2, Mills carried three times for 52 yards. One run accounted for 51 yards.

Mills could play one season at Garden City and transfer to an FBS school with two years of NCAA eligibility remaining.
