Falcons punter Bosher (hamstring) sits out practice

Falcons punter Matt Bosher is not practicing today because of a right hamstring injury.

Coach Dan Quinn did not mention Bosher’s injury during his media session earlier today. But Bosher, who also handles kickoffs, presumably was hurt injury the victory against the Panthers on Sunday.

With Bosher’s status in question, the Falcons signed punter/kicker Michael Palardy to the practice squad this week. Palardy has not played in a regular-season NFL game and most recently was with the Browns.

Parlardy, who kicks left-footed, handled punts, field goals and kickoffs as a senior at the University of Tennessee in 2013. Coaches voted Palardy second-team All-SEC as a kicker that season.

Bosher has punted 27 times this season with averages of 44.1 yards gross (ranked 22nd in NFL) and 41.3 yards net (13th). He’s placed eight punts inside the 20-yard line, had one touchback and had four punts returned for a total of 16 yards.
