Dan Reeves gives fans the thumbs up as he exits the Georgia Dome field Sunday, Nov. 17,1998, after the Atlanta Falcons defeated the San Francisco 49ers.

Dan Reeves coached the Atlanta Falcons for seven seasons inside the Georgia Dome, including a magical 1998 season that included heart surgery and a trip to the Super Bowl.

Reeves relives the emotions of coaching in the Dome and the warmth of the Atlanta fans in the "We Never Played the Game" podcast, hosted by the AJC's Jeff Schultz and Channel 2 Action News sports director Zach Klein.

“It was a great honor to have fans that were so involved in the game that they really became a weapon for us.”

The Georgia Dome will be imploded Monday morning.
