Falcons linebacker De’Vondre Campbell recorded his first NFL sack against the Green Bay Packers.

He spent part of the offseason working on his pass rush for his move to strongside linebacker.

With Vic Beasley out with a hamstring injury, the Falcons may elect to use Campbell more in pass rushing situations.

“I think I’m pretty comfortable,” Campbell said. “There’s always room for improvement, so I’m continually trying to get better, but I think I’m pretty comfortable in my role. I’m just trying to grow and expand it.”

Campbell is fine with blitzing off the edge.

“Oh yeah, especially knowing all the work that I put in to get to this point I’m always excited to have my number called and really see all the work I put in come to life,” Campbell said.

The Falcons hoping that Campbell, a fourth-round pick out of Minnesota in 2016, makes some major strides in his season season in the NFL.

“He’s bigger,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “He’s stronger, and he’s finding his voice as a leader with that kind of toughness. He provides a lot of versatility for us. I’m really proud of the start that he’s had so far, and I feel like he’s about to really take off.”
