It’s been 37 years since the University of Georgia won its last national championship in football, and the local landscape has changed a lot during that time.

The Braves and Falcons have each played in two different home stadiums and a young UGA basketball star is now a Hall of Famer with his own statue in downtown Atlanta.

Speaking of young, current UGA coach Kirby Smart was days removed from celebrating his fifth birthday when the Bulldogs defeated Notre Dame 17-10 in the Sugar Bowl (played on Jan. 1, 1981) to cap the unbeaten 1980 season.
