Three-star athlete Tijai Whatley signed his letter of intent Wednesday with Georgia Tech, officially making him a member of the Yellow Jackets 2018 recruiting class.

The 6-foot, 188-pound prospect from The Darlington School in Rome, committed to the Yellow Jackets back in June. Whatley had offers from 16 total schools including Boston College, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Kansas, North Carolina and Wake Forest.

He did a little bit of everything for his Darlington team this season, leading them in rushing yards (1, 502), receiving yards (362), touchdowns (26), kick return yards (364) and was second in interceptions with three picks.

He is projected to play A-back at Tech due to size, which is prototypical of an A-back in Paul Johnson’s triple-option offense.
