Three Georgia Tech baseball players were selected in the major league draft Wednesday in the final day of the selection process.

Third baseman Trevor Craport was taken in the 11th round by the Baltimore Orioles, relief pitcher Zac Ryan was selected in the 23rd round by the Los Angeles Angels and center fielder Ryan Peurifoy was picked by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 38th round. Ryan and Peurifoy, having finished their senior seasons, have no option to return to Tech. Craport, a junior, could potentially return, although prospects drafted that early typically turn professional.

Craport, from Norcross High, was named a third-team All-ACC selection this past season, hitting .336 with five home runs. In his career, he struck out 51 times in 434 at-bats.

Ryan finished his career with a 4.65 ERA and 14 saves. His ERA was skewed by a poor junior season. He was 9-1 as a sophomore with a 3.59 ERA and a .250 opponent batting average and 3-5 as a senior with a 3.33 ERA and a .240 opponent batting average.

Peurifoy hit .282 for his career and .295 as a senior. He had an 18-game hitting streak this season, and his 19 career outfield assists are second all-time in school history.

Tech has now had at least one player drafted in the past 37 drafts and at least two for the past 17 years.

Three Tech signees were also drafted – Grayson High shortstop Oscar Serratos (14th round, Cleveland Indians), Wesleyan outfielder/pitcher Collin Hall (39th round, Colorado Rockies) and Norcross High outfielder Baron Radcliff (40th round, Braves). Hall is the son of coach Danny Hall.
