Tech commit Demetris Harris withdraws commitment from Tech

Offensive guard Demetris Harris has decommitted from Georgia Tech in a statement released on Twitter on Thursday.

In his brief statement, the 3-star senior from Jacksonville, Fla. Harris wrote, "I would like to thank Georgia Tech for recruiting me, but I am taking a step back and decommitting from the program." Harris also wrote in his Tweet, "My recruitment is 100 percent open."

Harris is the second 2017 recruit within a week to withdraw his verbal commitment from Tech after cornerback OJ Tucker from Ocala, Fla. withdrew his commitment on Dec. 2. Tech's 2017 recruiting class now sits at 13 members with the newest additions of running back Jerry Howard and dual-threat quarterback Tobias Oliver

The 6-foot-3, 283 pound offensive guard has 21 total offers including Appalachian State, Charoltte, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Mercer, Southern University, UCF, USF and Wake Forest, according to 247 Sports.
