After suffering a season-ending leg injury, Georgia Tech senior offensive tackle Andrew Marshall will meet this week with coach Paul Johnson to discuss his future, Johnson said. Because he never played this season after suffering a leg injury in the preseason and then again before the Miami game, Marshall can take a redshirt this season and return for his senior season in 2018. Marshall didn’t redshirt as a freshman.

“It’s disappointing for him,” Johnson said. “I know he worked hard in the offseason to try to get ready to play his senior year. He’s got a lot of options because he’s going to have his degree. Andrew’s a pretty sharp guy, and I’m sure he’ll have a plan for what he wants to do. I’ll support him with whatever that is.”

Marshall was expected to be the starting right tackle before the season and was also the No. 2 center. He has played in 33 games and started nine. Marshall is majoring in business administration, holds a 3.4 GPA and is scheduled to graduate in December. In September, he was named a semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy, sometimes referred to as the “Academic Heisman.” He interned this summer with a shipping logistics company.
