Justin Thomas signing announced by Saints

The New Orleans Saints made official the signing of former Georgia Tech quarterback Justin Thomas on Wednesday afternoon, announcing the contract via news release. He joins the team as an undrafted free agent.

Thomas made the team’s 90-man offseason roster after competing for a spot in the Saints’ rookie minicamp this past weekend. Thomas worked out at cornerback and then wide receiver.

Thomas is expected to stay at wide receiver. He would be one of 12 at that position on the New Orleans roster. Of the other 11, none are draft picks this season and two others are undrafted free agents like Thomas.

The agreement was first reported by the AJC on Sunday.

As with player ratings, this is just meant to start conversation and not to be taken too seriously. Here we go: 1. Toronto (7-1-5). Last week: 2. Result: 1-1 tie with New York Red Bulls...

In Jones' search for Cowboys’ backup QB, Kaepernick deserves a look

It's that time again, even if owner Jerry Jones hasn't formally popped the cork on it.  It's Find That Dallas Cowboys Backup Quarterback time.  Tony Romo is gone, but the search must begin anew because, you know, you can never have enough low-expectation, minimal-salary-cap-impact, NFL backup quarterbacks.  Of course, nobody wants the...

WNBA is helping officials raise their game

Last year’s WNBA finals were deemed an instant classic. Lifted by an emotional Candace Parker and Nneka Ogwumike’s game-winning shot in the final seconds, the Los Angeles Sparks captured the title in a decisive Game 5 on the road against the Minnesota Lynx in front of a sold-out crowd at Target Center. It was women’s professional...
