James Washington’s amazing year is earning him plenty of accolades.
On Thursday night, Washington was announced as one of two wide receivers on the 2017 Walter Camp All-American First Team. Michael Gallup of Colorado State earned the other first-team spot.
Washington tormented defenses all season. The senior averaged 20.6 yards per catch on 69 receptions, good for 1,423 yards (the most in the nation) and 12 touchdowns. He formed a formidable partnership with quarterback Mason Rudolph, who was somehow left off either of the Walter Camp teams.
Later tonight, Washington has a chance to earn some more hardware. He’s one of three nominees for the Fred Biletnikoff Award, given to the best receiver in the country.
