After Georgia Tech home visit, top recruit commits to Missouri

Three days after taking a home visit with Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner, ESPN top-100 prospect Blake Harris committed to Missouri at the end of an official visit.

Harris had already declared his five finalists (Connecticut, Michigan State, Missouri, N.C. State and Rutgers) when Pastner made a visit to Harris’ home in Chapel Hill N.C., on Thursday. It evidently was not convincing enough. Harris, a point guard who was released from a letter of intent with Washington after the school fired coach Lorenzo Romar, posted a picture of himself on his Twitter account Sunday wearing a Missouri uniform with the text “I am officially a tiger.” He had been expected to take official visits to Connecticut, Michigan State and Rutgers also.

Josh Pastner’s recruiting strategy and Georgia Tech targets

The weekend was not a total loss for Tech. Moses Wright, a 6-foot-8 forward from Raleigh, N.C., committed to Tech on his official visit on Saturday. His commitment brings to three the number of prospects in the 2017 class. Point guard Jose Alvarado (New York) signed with Tech in November, while Wright and shooting guard Curtis Haywood (Mustang, Okla.) can sign when the signing period begins Wednesday.
