The NBA review of the final two minutes of regulation and overtime of the Hawks’ 109-105 victory over the Trail Blazers Monday night found two incorrect calls. Both benefitted the Hawks.
According to the Last Two Minutes report issued Tuesday, Dennis Schroder should have been called for a personal foul on Damian Lillard with 9.6 seconds remaining in overtime. The Hawks led 105-104 at the time of the incorrect non-call. Lillard drove to the basket and fell after contact with Schroder’s leg. Taurean Prince was credited with a steal as he picked up the loose ball. According to the report, “Schroder (ATL) makes leg to leg contact with Lillard (POR) that affects his (speed, quickness, balance and rhythm).” Here is the play.
The report also found that Tim Hardaway Jr. should have been called for a discontinued dribble with 1:07 left in the fourth quarter. The Trail Blazers led 95-94 at the time. Hardaway missed a 3-point attempt on the possession that was rebounded by the Trail Blazers.
The report found 15 correct non-calls and nine correct calls.
The NBA reviews and issues the report for all games that are within five points with two minutes remaining in regulation or in overtime when applicable.
