Hawks wing DeAndre Bembry will miss another 1-3 weeks after an MRI exam.

The Hawks said guard/forward DeAndre’ Bembry will be out another one to three weeks because of a groin injury.

An MRI exam performed Tuesday revealed a Grade 1 strain to Bembry’s left adductor muscle, the Hawks said. Bembry played 13 minutes for G-League Erie on Friday after he was sidelined for about two weeks because of the groin injury.

The Hawks selected Bembry with the No. 21 pick in the 2016 draft out of St. Joseph’s. He was expected to take on a larger role in his second season, but he’s been plagued by injuries.

Bembry suffered a triceps injury in September. He made it back in time to play in the season opener at Dallas, only to suffer a fractured right wrist in that game. Bembry returned to the court in mid-November, but couldn’t hold a spot in coach Mike Budenholzer’s rotation before being sent to Erie in late December and subsequently suffering the groin injury.
