Hawks in free fall after fourth straight loss

The Hawks are officially in free fall.

Their fourth straight loss – and seventh in eight games – came in a close battle with the Suns. The Suns used a fourth-quarter rally for a 109-107 victory Wednesday night.

The Suns scored 11 straight points to build a 10-point fourth quarter, 94-84. The Hawks got as close as a point in the final two minutes. The comeback ended there.

The Hawks (10-9) were led by Dennis Schroder with a game-high 31 points, his career-high. Kent Bazemore added 22 points, Tim Hardaway Jr. added 21 points and Dwight Howard had a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds. The Hawks played without starting power forward Paul Millsap, out with a left hip injury.

The Suns (6-13) snapped a two-game win streak. Brandon Knight led the Suns with 23 points. Jared Dudley and P.J. Tucker each added 17 points.

The Suns went up by five points, 104-99, with just over a minute to play and held on for the victory.

The Hawks ended their five-game road trip with a 1-4 record.

NBA considers changing game over millennials’ short attention spans

“It’s something that I know all of sports are looking at right now, and that is the format of the game and the length of time it takes to play the game,” Silver said to ESPN.com’s Tom Hamilton. “Obviously people, particularly millennials, have increasingly short attention spans, so it’s something as a business we...
