Watch: Chipper’s new role with Braves

Future Hall of Famer Chipper Jones (who wore No. 10) is taking on a new role with the Braves ... ticket-seller.

In a new spot advertising the new stadium, SunTrust Park, the Braves turned to the popular hitter and dad.

Braves’ 2017 sortable schedule

SunTrust Park just had sod installed this weekend. Braves single-game tickets go on sale Friday.

Also with a role in the spot is former Brave favorite Dale Murphy (who wore No. 3). Watch the “3/10” spot here:

SAN FRANCISCO — Braves catcher Kurt Suzuki corrected a reporter Saturday when it was suggested the veteran seemed more comfortable catching knuckleballer R.A. SAN FRANCISCO – If anyone figured the Braves would catch a break this series with Giants ace Madison Bumgarner on the disabled list, Ty Blach had other ideas. Blach, the rookie left-hander filling in for the big lefty, did something of a Bumgarner impersonation by taking a three-hit shutout to the eighth inning in a 6-3 Giants win Saturday night...

Pitcher Garcia puts some Kemp hitting tips to good use

SAN FRANCISCO – After Braves pitcher Jaime Garcia drove in the winning run with a two-out single in the seventh inning of Friday night’s 2-0 win against the Giants, the left-hander gave credit to Matt Kemp for providing some recent hitting tips. “I don’t hit as much as other (pitchers) do between starts, but I like to talk to...

Garcia does it with arm and bat in Braves’ 2-0 win over Giants

SAN FRANCISCO – When the Giants intentionally walked Dansby Swanson to put two runners on base with two out in the seventh inning of a scoreless game Friday night with pitcher Jaime Garcia on deck, Braves manager Brian Snitker could’ve brought in a pinch-hitter. He has plenty of times in similar situations this season, and to say with mixed...
