Dansby Swanson and Matt Kemp celebrate a 3-1 win over the New York Mets in the 12th inning on April 5, 2017, at Citi Field in New York City.

Braves left fielder Matt Kemp played a game for Triple-A Gwinnett on rehabilitation assignment Wednesday and is set to rejoin the big-league lineup on Thursday.

Kemp has been out of the Braves lineup since suffering a right hamstring injury that forced him to leave an April 7 game at the Pirates. Braves manager Brian Snitker said before Wednesday’s game that of all goes well for Kemp during his rehab game he would return to the lineup for the series finale against the Nationals at SunTrust Park.

Kemp started in left field for the G-Braves and went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and a strikeout. He was replaced for the top of the eighth inning.
