Should be a good CD, but hopefully he won't overdo the beat boxing. Can't imagine an entire CD of that stuff.

mynana...welcome and congrats on your new profile! Although...I don't think it will be too popular around here. :-)

America's team not popular, can't imagine that. LOL

Yay! I am so happy for Blake! I am hearing his album will be GREAT! Even Clive and Simon Fuller are impressed.
And by the way Rodney please do your research. The album will be called: A.D.D. : Audio Day Dream.
The coolest title ever. Can't wait for this! Go Blake!

LOL, Rodney...there are critics everywhere. I hope Blake's cd encompasses all kinds of music, not just beatboxing...he is a very talented musician!

Posted by: maritza on August 25, 2007 4:30AM EST
Blake can't sing so this should be very interesting.
I noticed that Clive Davis said what Blake's collaborators said about him rather than what he himself felt about Blake. Not sure that Clive is impressed or else he would have praised him directly. Simon Fuller had something nice to say about him being "unique" but that doesn't mean he can sing because he can't. The beat boxing will get very old quickly.
Posted by: Deirdre on August 25, 2007 7:40AM EST
He sings at least as well as Justin Timberlake, which isn't saying much but proves that just about ANYBODY can sing good enough to be famous.

Looks like the coward that WAS the Falcons quarterback has lost 150 million dollars trying to portray a thug. What a dumb azz! He has ruined his life and ruined our football team. I hope I never see him in Atlanta again! Sorry to the folks that seem to think he is Gods gift to the game but he is nothing more than a street thug and the facts are out there to prove it. In a couple of years he will probably be a broke azz without enough education to do anything but be a dish washer and he could have lived the American dream. How dissapointing!

Sorry, but are you deaf? Blake has an incredible voice, have you heard his acoustic v does of She Will Be Loved on Tour? It's amazing. He records really really well. I am sure his CD will sellgreat. His music is current and his style is fresh. Can't wait! He is working with TOP producers that's for sure.
KPH....Only in Atlanta can it get this bad..I hope now that the cancer has been removed from the team, hopefully we can have a team to be proud of.If Vick was so loved, why are there very few players speaking out on his behalf..the whole deal makes me sick.

Yea Flats i'm sure there are a lot of people who dont like me as much now for the above statement but it needed to be said and it has not got a damn thing to do with race. I am as far from a racist person as you can get but due to the above statement I will be deemed one by the narrow minded. I love football and I am pissed at Vick for ruining my home team. He can go to hell and take his posse with him as far as I am concerned. The facts are there as to what he did and if anyone cant see them they are blind in one eye and cant see out of the other one and so narrow minded they can see through a keyhole with both eyes! GO WARNER ROBBINS!
KPH...Dont worry i've already been labeled racist..i dont have to defend myself by no means...i feel sorry for the ones that think that..RC,the other day told me to take my hood off..LOL!!!!it's a crazy world and not getting any better..Mike Vick was the face of the NFL...huge story, dont you think???He pissed all that away, and hell yeah i'm going to rag his a$$...black or white, the man's an idiot..i feel sorry for the true falcons fans that bought into his crap.i knew he was going to screw up and leave them hanging. The ones turning this into a race thing has major issues......GO WARNER ROBBINS!!!
Posted by: mynana on August 25, 2007 2:53PM EST
It's ashame that Vick chose that path to go. He had a God given gift, and he would have been comfortable for life. How many of us hard working folks, would love to make 150 mil, plus endorsement contracts. Of course, if the Falcons are doing it for you this year, come on over the Boys. They'll be fun to watch. :-)
Mynana...do you think Romo will be the man in Dallas?for me,NFL lost its luster 20 years ago...that's a shame,i'm only 35!!Good luck with your cowboys!
Posted by: Deirdre on August 25, 2007 3:37PM EST
KPH and greg....you guys are entitled to your opinions and you're also entitled to state them on this blog. Michael Vick is a huge disappointment to a lot of people. I, for one, feel betrayed. We trusted him to represent the Atlanta community. Maybe that's a job he didn't want but he accepted it when he became the Falcon's quarterback. This isn't just about dogs...it's about his inability to conduct himself in an acceptable way as a representative of our community. His actions are not only despicable, they are an embarrassment to the team, the coaches, the owners, the NFL and his fans. Anyone who feels that anything either one of you has said is based on racism, hasn't been paying attention or has their head in the sand.

For anyone who cares, well...no one's on, but Jordin Sparks and Ryan Seacrest will be on the Teen Choice Awards on FOX @ 8 (now).
Posted by: wiseowl on August 26, 2007 8:23PM EST
Based primarily on the 2:31 post..."I knew he was going to screw up and leave them hanging"??? So you've just been waiting for your Christmas delight, so don't forget to thant Vick for your acclaimed pleasure in seeing his downfall. true enough, all are entitled to their opinions, but the above bloggers have made this thing so very personal. You all have had both the wake and funeral for the man...the celebration has taken place, yet the group of you are doing a bit more than "stating opinions"...the feeling is indeed in the air and no disinfectant can get rid of the "unintentional" slurs. Other blogs treat the same issue but many of you here really have taken it much too personal. Just give your opinion and move on...or can you? Look in the mirror and ask yourself "is the hood really missing?"
Posted by: Justin on August 26, 2007 8:45PM EST
Also Kelly Clarkson will be performing, I uh...saw Sanjaya in the audience...which was pretty yuck.. and it looks a little like Jordin is rockin' some shorter hair? At least it looked like it...I don't remember any other American Idol stuff on the show except that they may have won the category for Choice Reality Show again. Oh and Fantasia was nominated for the tv movie she starred in.
Posted by: Deirdre on August 26, 2007 8:50PM EST
Again...it's not about race..it's about expectations. disappoint rears it's head in a lot of different ways. Some people are shocked, some are sad, others are angry and a few people need to say 'I told you so'. Michael Vick had everything in the world going for him and he blew it. An example of some who are doing it right? Warrick Dunn! Algie Crumpler! Keith Brooking! If those guys could do it, why couldn't Vick? It hurts like hell when a hero falls off that pedestal. People need to vent.
Posted by: Deirdre on August 26, 2007 8:52PM EST
Justin...I'm glad you're still around to throw in a comment every now and then. Thanks for the update on the Teen choice Awards!
Posted by: wiseowl on August 26, 2007 10:27PM EST
Excellent response, Deirdre...especially about that almighty pedestal that exists in pretty much every facet of our world....not just the celebrity part either. Perhaps giving vent would also bring about wakeup calls for the numerous individuals making poor judgement in their lives, careers, etc. Ironically, it would serve them well to hear or read the various comments, and seeing the impact their behaviour has on everyone. Truly, it would be terriby shocking to find that any person condones what Vick is accused of doing. I agree that we tend to have great expectations.....even of some who are really not so great.

Thanks War Eagle.. The games were awesome. I was really impressed that we beat Lubbock Texas who was 20-0 and their scoring was unbelievable. Don't remember it exactly, it was something like 325-15.
Oh yeah, good morning to everyone btw.. Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Excuse me D, but it appears it's you who has a head in the sand. No one here has ever argued against freedom of speech, but I do object to race baiting. The following post was copied from Thursday's blog:
Posted by: flat screen on August 23, 2007 9:27AM EST OJ Simpson's opening his own league this year..Mike Vick and Pac Man are his star players.
What does that have to do with the right to state your opinions or disappointment in Mike Vick and damage to the Falcons D? Huh? I'll answer it for you. NOTHING!!!
It is all about race baiting however and it's too bad your blinders won't allow you to see that. No reasonable person would defend such a statement, period.
RC
PS - Congrats Warner Robins!!!
Thanks RC....for bringing me up agian.....I really thing OJ would make a wonderful coach for all the suspended NFL players...dont you?

Morning y'all!
Mitch - how about Amber wanting to be the next Top Model? And when she was crying and praying did she really say "God bless you" to GOD?!?!?!? She's a hoot.
Posted by: on August 27, 2007 8:36AM EST
RC, dont waste your time, it is a mute point, cause the ears are deaf. Let her continue to support his racist statements, I have learned to not let it get to me. It is so funny how people can say whatever they want on a blog where they dont have to show their faces, sorta like when they hide behind those hoods... lol
Shaun...LOL!!!!
Posted by: Deirdre on August 27, 2007 8:43AM EST
RC...my statement to KPH and greg was in reference to what they had to say on THIS blog! Perhaps if greg had added Robert Blake and Martha Stewart to the above list, it wouldn't have seemed so repugnant to you but they were not football players who were charged with crimes. They were just other famous people who stayed in the news week after week, month after month for what they may or may not have done.
This blog used to be a place where people could express their opinions and have those opinions questioned without it turning into something personal. Being accused of racism, whether directly or subtlely, is personal!
Posted by: shay on August 27, 2007 8:43AM EST
RC, I agree with Shaun. It's a mute point. People see what they want to see. But you were right on point with that post :-)
Did anyone here that Hulk Hogan's son was in a serious crash? I love that whole family. I pray that will he be o.k. I know his mom is losing her mind right now.

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Monday!
Yo, I almost fell off the couch when Wahmber said she had a pretty body! Pretty fat, maybe. I think Jameka had hair model in mind, not model model.
Oh well.
Has anyone heard Elliott's single, I'll wait for you? Not bad. Not bad at all. He actually has TV commercials for his new CD. I wish him much success.
Congratulations Warner Robins! Bruster's for Everybody!

Morning Jexy Po!! How was your weekend??? :-)
Posted by: YoDaddy on August 27, 2007 8:52AM EST
I hope Nick is ok. I watched the show a few times. Pretty cool family. I have also watched the Gene Simmons show a few times. I grew up loving KISS and it's interesting to see what a doting father "The Beast" is.
Posted by: on August 27, 2007 8:54AM EST
Deirdre, I was referring the greg on my last post, not you. But I do feel that you have to make it a point to come behind everything he says with support.
I think Shaunypoo has a problem that he accuses me of....LOL!!!
Posted by: Jex on August 27, 2007 8:57AM EST
Shay, was he in one of those stunt cars that he's been driving on the show. I have grown to really like that family too.
I would hate to see them get divorced.
Posted by: Jex on August 27, 2007 8:59AM EST
Weekend?! Was there a weekend? Wasn't I here just yesterday?
Shaun, let it go baby.
Posted by: on August 27, 2007 9:01AM EST
Hey Jex, yeah the weekend was too short, as always. Did anyone go down tot eh festival at Grant Park Sat? My neice took my son down there, she said they had a great time.
Posted by: YoDaddy on August 27, 2007 9:01AM EST
Jex - it was funny when the producers cut to that shot of Wahmber in a bikini when she mentioned her pretty body.
One more thing Wiseowl..i do make it very personal with the xfootball player mike vick...I LOVE ANIMALS WITH A PASSION...do you like dogs?i've heard things on his dog fighting deal since he joined the falcons..so yes,IT'S LIKE CHRISTMAS TOO SEE HIM FOLD AND BUCKLE.
Posted by: on August 27, 2007 9:03AM EST
Is anyone watching Komora's show? My wife is hooked, I watched it with her this weekend, it is ok.
Posted by: shay on August 27, 2007 9:04AM EST
Jex, I don't think he was in one of those stunt cars. But he was on a street that they race on in St. Petersburg doing a high speed.
Posted by: Mitch on August 27, 2007 9:04AM EST
I thought it was too funny and then they showed Wahmber stuffing her face. She could be a model but I don't think it is the kind of model she wants to be.
Posted by: YoDaddy on August 27, 2007 9:09AM EST
Wahmber is detachted from reality. One day she is talking about how most of the clothes in the shopping spree were too small for her, then she wants to be on America's Next Top Model. Has she seen the skinny beotches on that show?
Posted by: Mitch on August 27, 2007 9:16AM EST
I love how she goes on and on about how much she loves God and how much she prays to Him and all the visions He has given her then the next thing out of her mouth is the F-bomb, the D-word, the S-word and any other 4 letter word that most Christians would not use.
Posted by: Jex on August 27, 2007 9:16AM EST
Yo, I think she really has a problem. She didn't say anything about God until she started hangin with Jameka. Then it's "Hi God, it's me." Like he doesn't know already.
I hope she gets voted out this week.
Posted by: Jex on August 27, 2007 9:21AM EST
Mitch, I don't know about that. I'm a Christian and I use the dreaded four letter words on a regular basis. When did God say I can't say "f" or "s"? I can say manure but not "s"? I can say sex, but not "f"? Doesn't make sense to me.
I think calling someone stupid is worse than saying "s". JMHO.
Posted by: War Eagle on August 27, 2007 9:22AM EST
TMZ is reporting that Nick Hogan was released from the hospital this morning. They say the passenger is in worse shape.
Posted by: shay on August 27, 2007 9:26AM EST
that's a relief :-)
I hope his buddy will be o.k. too.
Posted by: Mitch on August 27, 2007 9:26AM EST
That's true. Alot of it is perception as well. A few weeks ago (forgive me for mentioning the "N" sport) at the race in California, they showed Kyle Petty praying before the race for his crew and a safe race etc. and then he is involved in a wreck on the first lap. The incar goes to him just as he drops the F-bomb. There was alot of joking about it for the next week.
Posted by: Deirdre on August 27, 2007 9:28AM EST
You know....a few weeks ago I was hurt....but now I'm just frickin pissed off. Why shouldn't I defend greg...just like I would defend ALL of you if someone was picking on you personally!!!! greg's opinions belong to greg! Whether you see them as racially motivated or not! Whether you agree with them or not!
This place has always been a safe zone partially BECAUSE of the anonimity. We could express our feelings(whether likeable feelings or not) without fear. We could discuss how we felt and maybe have out minds changed or our way of thinking altered. Now we find ourselves tiptoeing around subjects for fear of offending someone. A year ago we were dealing with MPD's and obnoxious hitandruns. This year our problems are much more serious.
I'll leave you guys to the blog. Y'all obviously want to have some fun today and I'm just not in that kind of mood right now.
Posted by: mynana on August 27, 2007 9:30AM EST
We saw their house from our dolphin sightseeing (the Hogans) in Clearwater this summer. Drove down that 60 stretch, but can't remember it being overly dangerous. I think sometimes if they want to drive fast, they should look for a speedway or something like that to drive. Not city streets. Be safer for all. Don't they have race tracks like that? for civilians?

One day when Bubba and Billy Bob were in the Little Rock Wal-Mart, they decided to get in on the weekly charity raffle. They each bought five tickets at a dollar a pop.
The following week, when the raffle was drawn, each had won a prize. Billy Bob won 1st place - a year's supply of gourmet spaghetti sauce and extra long spaghetti. Bubba won 6th prize - a toilet brush.
About a week or so had passed when the men met back at Wal-Mart.
Bubba asked Billy Bob how he liked his prize, to which Billy Bob replied, "Great!, I love spaghetti!"
Billy Bob asked Bubba, "How 'bout you, how's the toilet brush? "Not so good," replied Bubba, "I reckon I'm gonna switch back to paper."

mynana, my Panthers didn't do too good this weekend either. The good thing (and I am sticking to it) is that many times teams that have won all the preseason games have had poor seasons and some that have lost all of their preseason games have won the Super Bowl.

I don't have any kids today but I think I hate the first day of school like everyone else. More traffic and those @#*& schoolbuses.
Not to mention the kids in my complex think the bus stop is the middle of the road out of the complex. It is like they are daring you to hit them.

kimmy, stop by and see me. We can have a couple drinks and participate in the wet T-shirt contests.
Mitch, don't get me started on those freakin', frackin' school buses. WHY can't they pull into the complexes or subdivisions? WHY do they have to stop on major streets and block up 4,5 and 6 lanes of traffic. Why, lawd?! WHY!!!

We had good news on him this past week. 9 months post-transplant (kidney) and his new one is working 93.3 percent. (norm is 60-70) Can never be 100, but that's a awesome number. Talk about happy feet. He's my only grandchild, so yes, he's royally spoiled and i love doing it.
