Fantasia is exhausted but rockin’ Broadway.. Oprah apparently convinced her to extend her stay through January despite the grueling schedule and emotional toll it takes to play Miss Celie in “The Color Purple.”
Oh, and I’m watching “America’s Got Talent” and those annoying one-trick ponies from last year called the “Quick Change Artists” (the woman’s dresses seem to change in a heartbeat multiple times) came back. But the woman slipped and fell at the beginning and it sure didn’t look like part of the act! Piers looks annoyed because yes, it’s the same act again! Then again, he might just be in massive pain over that Segway accident he got in when he broke a few ribs.
I really enjoyed the final four picks this year: the adorable 14 year old Julienne Irwin, the dignified beat-boxer/piano player Butterscotch, the engaging singer Cas Haley and my pick to win, the incredible singing ventroliquist Terry Fater. And he did. Watch him here.
The only unfortunate part about Fater winning is he will inspire a raft of really bad ventriloquists.

Yes, they did the exact same act, except for the woman falling on her butt. It was a great act the first 400 times I saw it. Piers was right last year, there wasn't much more they could do with that act.
Don't tell me Mitch - Amber cried and God spoke to Jameeka! :) I hope they are realizing now that they should have gotten rid of Dick when they had the chance. Kinda cool that the girls get to go on Power of Ten.
After the Veto Ceremony on Monday when Wamber was replaced by Jen, Jen started showing exactly how self centered she really is. Her and Dick had a called a truce several weeks ago and Dick had been very good about keeping that truce.
Jen went searching for Dick's cigs and crushed them and poured bleach on them. Her excuse was that since she hated smoke (she lated changed it to she was allergic to smoke) that she could destroy cigs. Dick went to diary room and was told you could hide things but not destroy so they replaced all his cigs she destroyed. Dick took all of Jen's belongings (clothes, make-up etc) and hid them in the HOH bedroom (Wamber & Dani were on there trip).
Since BB replaced Dick's cigs, Jen decided she was just not going to play by the rules. Remember that she is on slop for 30 days. She decided she was going to start eating. She has said she will not go to sequesture. First, BB stated she would get a penalty nomination next week and she could not be saved in anyway by veto.
With this, the house decided to keep her this week and evict Jameka (being called "JAMESUS" on some boards) and then boot Jen next week.
Since this caused an unfair situation for Jameka, they changed it to a penalty vote this week. Jen will start with 1 vote before anyone starts to vote Thursday night. It appears that AM Choice is for Eric to vote to keep Jameka.
No one in the house is talking to Jen at all. She said she will not go to sequesture and will have to get with her "manager" on that.
I missed one thing. Jen was sitting in the "smoking section" and Dick lit up a cig and Jen started in on him so he blew the smoke right at her. She went after Dick trying to get his cig from him and burned herself on the cig. Jam broke that up after the blocked the feeds.
I think if she walkes out (no sequesture), America get's to vote for her vote. They can't bring anyone else back because they have been watching and know what is happening.
That would be cool if America got a vote. Didn't I read somewhere that they get an appearance fee for being on the finale? Oh, but Jen's not in it for the money...I forgot.
Good morning everyone. Terry Fater is amazing and I am glad he won. I had quit watching the show until a friend sent me a video of him performing and I was hooked. Cas Haley is also very talented. Glad to see they weeded through the rift raft and really got down to some great talent.
Good Morning everyone! I am so glad that Terry won, he is different. I didn't watch the whole show last night, although I did catch that girl busting her butt on the stage last night. Priceless! I really like Cas but I think that Terry is really talented. Cas will be ok.

KPH...Our pitching has really gone away lately..no excuse losing that one last night!
I'm thinking of moving again. I don't like it here, I'm thinking of out of the country, probably Italy. Of course, I need to get prepared first, learn Italian, and convince my family.
K - not much change in the back. No worse, no better...steady as she goes.

Good morning to all... Kimmy I am with you... I have heard the Northern Coast of Italy is spectacular. I think I would choose Ireland and Scotland. What about everyone else here?
Flats and KPH... I do agree you can't win a division much less make the wild card with just two good pitchers. Right now I think there chances for the post-season are 70/30....
Hi Luvs. Your odds are probably about right at this point. I think Chuck James is going to step it up a notch though. At least I hope so! If they do make it to the playoffs you can get by with 2 great pitchers if the cards fall right. GO BRAVES! LOSE METS AND PHILLIES!
The results finale for AGT just went on too long. I cannot believe they brought back all the ridiculous rejects from this season. The only one of the rejects I liked was the lady ventriloquist. I am pleased that Terry won as I thought he would. Cas was really good too and it was good that he was up there with Terry. But, Terry is just awesome! Julienne and Butterscotch were also really good (however, Butterscotch got on my nerves after awhile).
I didn't watch AGT last year but those quick change artists were cool to watch but if that is all they can do, then I'm happy I only saw them this one time. I was wondering if the fall on the butt was part of the act but when she got up and kinda danced away you could see her glancing at the floor to figure out what made her fall...

I agree idolLVR as with Blake on AI Butterscotch and the beatbox thing gets on my nerves after a while she did however show some other talent with her piano playing. Blake couldnt sing though so the only thing he had going for him was the beatboxing which as you say gets nerve racking after a while.
Yeah, KPH, I agree. I think Butterscotch was better at the beatboxing than Blake and doesn't have the 1000 yard stare either. She showed a lot of personality during her performances whereas Blake was the same no matter what song he was performing. Her voice, to me, was quite nasally, though, it is rather tough to sing and beatbox at the same time so I have to give her props for that.
Hey, Yo, Kimmy, Shay, Flats. Wassup?

'Sup all. Am I the only one who is absolutely SICK of reality shows. I'm limiting myself to Idol and ANTM because there are just too many shows and they're all addictive and time consuming.
Hey all. Still here. Just got back from a meeting to let us know some jobs from another department are going to India. AAAHHHH!!!!!
Posted by: mystique on August 22, 2007 11:17AM EST
I'm still around, just got busy too. I just realized I forgot to do something that should have been done a few weeks ago and I've been freaking out a little bit~!
I agree with Butterscotch too. Last week we fast forwarded through all of Butterscotch's performances. I haven't watched last night yet. I have it recorded but may not wast my time. We watched "On The Lot" & BB8 last night. On The Lot was one of the best competition reality shows I have watched. The guy that won has a $1 million deal with Dreamworks Studios and will work with Stephen Spielberg.
Mitch this outsource to India thing is about to piss me off. My son is an accountant at Home Dept corporate and 87 jobs in his department just got given to Indians which sucks! He however was offered a job in another department and got a raise and a 4 day work week so it was a blessing in a way for him. So many of his friends and coworkers lost their jobs to another country and that sucks big time!

It is getting worse every year. It was when my department in TX announced that half of our jobs were going to India that I got to transfer to NC. Then they changed their minds because they realized that somethings like "rapor" cannot be taught.
It is going to take some people in Washington with the gonads to stand up to these big businesses and close the tax loopholes that make it beneficial to send these jobs overseas before they stop doing it.
My job also was sent to India about 4 years ago. The company was only sending developer type positions and only about 25% of the total jobs available. Then about a year and a half ago they decided to go to a 35% US and 65% India mix (more like 25/75). Right after Thanksgiving they went through the employees and told us who was impacted and who wasn't. I wasn't but decided I didn't want the frickin' hassle of trying to train them and then end up doing all the over time and weekend work because it was in the "contract" that the Indians wouldn't have to. I started looking for a job in December and finally landed one in August of last year. Been where I am for a year and am loving it! It was touch and go for a while but now that I'm permanent (was a contractor) it is much better.
Oh yeah, didn't mention that I did not lose my job 4 years ago I was just reassigned to another department. However, I did keep in touch with the old folks and found out that they pulled the job back to the US because they (the folks in India) couldn't keep up, do the job right and kept messing up.
I know that the people in India that get jobs for US corporations have learned English (or at least a form of it) but when you call any type of customer service, sometimes the language barrier is so wide it makes the entire situation worse than it should have been. Just like my experience with HP last week.
Yeah, I had a problem with a tool I'm using here at work and called into the Help Desk. I got someone from India. I could hardly understand them - they spoke so fast and had a very heavy accent. I spent about 20 minutes trying to tell them the problem with them repeating stuff back but it was incomprehensible. They put a ticket in but when I looked at it, it still had some information incorrect. I thought maybe when the tech called he would understand what I needed. When the tech called he was also Indian with a thick accent. I worked with him for about an hour and finally got what I needed. It makes a bad situation worse.
I also know that most of these customer support centers run in India have scripts that they use to determine the problem and provide the solution. I am very computer literate and most of the time I've already done all the troubleshooting before I call customer support. One time I called in because I was having a problem with my Internet. I did all the troubleshoot before calling technical customer support. I got a person from India with fairly decent command of the English language (i.e. I could understand him). I told the him everything I did when I first started talking to him. He started reading from the script and told me to do the same things I'd already done - I kept telling him that I had done that already. He finally had to put me on hold several times (one time it was about 20 minutes) to consult with other people. It took about 4 hours to resolve my issue.

I know, I know....I call you people out w/the eff statement and then I leave sorry, work called:( House, you need to give me some tips of where to go, what to do ect...that's my next trip, I wanna go for 14 days. Hubby got outsourced a few years ago so, I'm not a fan.
A couple made a deal that whomever died first would come back and inform the other of the afterlife. Their biggest fear was that there was no afterlife.
After a long life together, the husband was the first to die. True to his word he made contact, "Connie....Connie. "
"Is that you, Joe?"
Yes honey it is
That's wonderful! What's it like?"
Well, I get up in the morning, I have sex. I have breakfast and then it's off to the golf course. I have sex again, bathe in the warm sun and then have sex a couple of more times. Then I have lunch (you'd be proud - lots of greens) another romp around the golf course, then pretty much have sex the rest of the afternoon. After supper, it's back to golf course again. Then it's more sex until late at night. I catch some much needed sleep and then the next day it starts all over again."
Oh, Joe you surely must be in Heaven!"
Not exactly... I'm a rabbit on a golf course in Arizona
I have gotten in the habit of asking the Indian who picks up the phone that I want to speak to someone who speaks fluent english and then when they tell me that they do I start pulling out the most southern slang you have ever heard. This usually gets me transfered to an American because they dont understand a word I am saying! LOL! I also make it a point to call the corporations headquarters and lodge a complaint about the fact that I cant understand what the people they have hired are saying. I dont know if will help with the outsourcing problem but I figure every little bit helps. If it dosent stop my gradchildren may have to leave the country just to get a job.
Yeah, I'm concerned about my daughter being able to get work here in the US.
I don't necessarily blame the companies for watching their bottom line because in order to stay in business and to keep their stock holders happy they need to. It is mainly our fault for wanting goods for the lowest price possible and then expecting to be paid premium for the work we do. Companies can't pay top dollar salaries for their people, put out quality goods for low cost and still make a profit.
The outsourcing issue goes hand in hand with the illegal immigration problem.
It is a pretty simple choice for a corporation when they have the choice of being taxed to death, having to follow all the assinine osha and ADA laws etc, and PAY people $25-$75 hr -- when they can get around all the taxes, workplace laws and pay people MINIMUM WAGE in India.

Well, another night of praying for a decent outing by Cormier. I really though BLO-BLO Reyes was gonna have a good night last night after he got out of the second inning.
I still have to wonder how many of Reyes pitches would have been strikes for Smoltz or Hudson though??? Reyes was right around the edge of the strike zone with every pitch.
Mike S., that is so true. There's also SOX and a gazillion other laws, taxes and other ridiculous hoops they have to jump through to do business in the US. Really promotes free enterprise, huh?
