8/1: Sabrina and Sundance-- remember them?
By: Rodney Ho | July 31, 2007, 7:52PM EST

Sabrina Sloan and Sundance Head, who both just missed making the final 12 this past season, are going to do a duet CD with a major label Universal Motown. (My reaction: huh?). Oddly, they have scored a major record deal before most of the final 12.

Here are the details at ew.com.

”The feel will be soulful songs with a contemporary twist — kind of Al Green meets OutKast,” said Sloan, noting that she and Head will hit the studio in August, with the hopes of making a late November release date.

Sloan added, in the long-term, both she and Head consider themselves solo artists. ”It’s not going to be a long-term [partnership], like Peaches & Herb,” she said with a laugh.

AGT:

1. The Duttons - They were okay for me. Piers buzzed them.

2. Robert Hatcher - I really like him. Nice choice of song for him and suited his voice.

3. Calypso Tumblers - They were HOT today (more so than last week). They did some awesome moves. They are contortionists!

4. Jason Pritchett - He has a nice voice (and he's cute to boot!). I liked the song. Piers said he's a cruise ship performer... Don't know that I agree with that...

5. Butterscotch - Wow what a metamorphasis! She looks really pretty tonight. That was a great performance. She can not only beatbox she can sing too.

6. Glamazons - They are fantastic performers. However, I think they harmonize well but alone they aren't the best singers.

7. Cas Haley (singer w/ electric guitar) - Now, I really like this guy. Can't say I like the song choice but he's got a great voice.

8. Terry Fator - He always amazes me. He sang "Unforgettable" and did both the male and female parts. He's multi-talented - He not only sings very well, he does impressions and is a ventriloquist. He's my favorite.

9. Julienne Irwin - She has a very nice voice but was a bit pitchy. She is so cute. I think she will do well.

10. Sideswipe - When they started, I was wondering where the fourth guy was. Well, they brought in the kids. I thought I thought it was interesting but the Calypso Tumblers were better.

My rankings...

1. Terry Fator
2. Calypso Tumbelers
3. Butterscotch
4. Cas Haley
5. Robert Hatcher
6. Glamazons
7. Jason Pritchett
8. Julienne Irwin
9. Sideswipe
10. The Duttons

The bottom five are hard to rank for me. I think The Duttons are gone this week, however.

My rankings:
1. Terry Fator (love him! Truly the best ventroliquist I've ever seen though I hope this doesn't mean a flood of them.)
2. Cas Haley (just really engaging guy no matter what he does.)
3. Julienne Irwin (Not her best performance but I marked her up for her past and her vibrant personality. Sure beats Bianca Ryan!)
4. Butterscotch (Her beatboxing can be irritating but she actually has a lovely voice.)
5. Calypso Tumblers (Incredible!)
6. Sideswipe (Yes, the kids were a blatant play for votes and Pier's insults virtually guarantee they'll be back.)
7. Glamazons (Never been a big fan but they did enough to survive)
8. Robert Hatcher (I hate that song. Sorry Robert! You still deserve to stay.)
9. Jason Pritchett (He shouldn't have made the top 10 so goodbye now!)
10. The Duttons (Um... no. Sure, we gotta love the song "Devil Went Down to Georgia." But it felt like the Osmonds singing "Shout at the Devil." It's time for this fine family to go back to Branson. Please.)

Of course they got the record deals before others, they were voted off before the others.
