7/21: Fantasia, a Broadway star
By: Rodney Ho | July 21, 2007, 2:12PM EST

fantasia-color-purple-335a031407.jpg

MTV.com wrote a lovely piece about how Fantasia has surprisingly rocked Broadway with “The Color Purple” while her second single off her sophomore album has helped enliven her music career at the same time..

“I think she could become a bulletproof artist without her album necessarily having to go triple-platinum or even platinum,” said Keith Murphy, an editor at Vibe magazine to MTV.com. “You’re looking at an artist who now has the capability of growing old with her fans.”

I would agree with him. Fantasia has serious skills and she’s smartly using them on multiple platforms three years after winning “Idol.” Go Fantasia!

Justin, that video clip was sooo lame. I can't believe I actually went and watched it. I really need a life!

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 1:17PM EST
Hey

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 1:18PM EST
LOL @ Shay, it looks like it's been photoshopped!! When she was on GMA a couple of weeks ago, she wasn't that thin!

Posted by: Carla on July 23, 2007 1:18PM EST
I'm here too.

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 1:18PM EST

Posted by: on July 23, 2007 1:22PM EST

Posted by: Carla on July 23, 2007 1:23PM EST
Nah I'm caught up. I'm just getting too much work to do and not enough pay for it. Plus I like to take breaks and watch tv.

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 1:23PM EST
Carla, the girls at the concert were practically naked. The girl in front of me and my husband had on some shorts and 3 inches of her booty cheek were out and she had stretch marks on her booty cheek. LOL!!

And why was Porshe Foxx there acting drunk as heck trying to hide her face. Girl, I thought you cleaned yourself up.

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 1:23PM EST
So what do y'all think about Ronald Isley and his 3yr prison sentence for tax evasion? Some dude, yep some non-descrip so-called friend, of Mr. Biggs was on Steve Harvey's radio show asking for fans to write their congressman, senators and even the WH to appeal for leniency.

Posted by: on July 23, 2007 1:24PM EST
my fight party was ok, i think people were bored because the fight was not that exciting. By fights end, all my guest were about gone.

Posted by: on July 23, 2007 1:25PM EST
I think Ron is too old to go to prison, they should pardon him.

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 1:26PM EST
That's most jobs. More work than paycheck. That's why I always use all my vacations and sick days. My last job had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to donate two of my vacation days to a guy in the company because he was really sick and needed to be home with his family. Hell, when my cousin Pookie broke his leg tryin' to ride his mo-ped on one wheel, yall didn't raise any sick days for him. He had to take off without pay! Whateva!

Posted by: Carla on July 23, 2007 1:26PM EST
That's a shame shay. But you know how your folks do it.

I think Ron needs to do his time. It doesn't matter to me how old he is. He committed a crime so he needs to do the time.

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 1:27PM EST
Yeah, Ronnie is too old to go to jail. Besides, who cares! Let that man spend his last days at home. Maybe he should starve himself like Paris Hilton and they will only make him do two weeks.

Posted by: Carla on July 23, 2007 1:28PM EST
BTW, I just went to the other blog and I had to say a little something. I didn't realize anyone had gone off the deep end.

Posted by: Carla on July 23, 2007 1:29PM EST
If that was your daddy or granddaddy, his butt would be in jail already.

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 1:30PM EST
I couldn't take my camera in the concert and my camera phone didn't take good pictures of Beyonce. I did take pics of myself. I am sure I looked just as good as B :-)

Robin Thicke was even skinnier in person. He did o.k. but he had no props on stage because the stage was already set up for B to perform. So he just had to sing standing there. He was doing one dance that was kinda feminine but who knows. I thought he was going to let his naval show because he had his hands in the air with his stomach out. So unman like.

Posted by: on July 23, 2007 1:30PM EST
tru carla. They should give ron house arest.

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 1:33PM EST
And someone anonymously comes on the other blog to call me a fool. Wanna guess who that was?

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 1:33PM EST
Eeewww to the booty shorts and stretch marks!! That's just dayum nasty!!

Ronnie IS too old, on that point I agree. Too old to be doing half the crap he's been doing over the past few years. I think he should do the time under the watch of a physician. If he was sooooo concerned about his tax/legal issues why have a "lavish" wedding cermony in the midst of all of this to a girl young enough to be your granddaughter? I'm just saying.....( :

Posted by: on July 23, 2007 1:34PM EST
Shay, i saw that, dont even worry about it.

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 1:35PM EST
didn't he have a baby a few years ago or was that someone else? My bad, that was Stevie Wonder.

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 1:36PM EST
Shaun, you already know who posted that comment and he/she is a coward.

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 1:36PM EST
Shay, Ronnie, er excuse me...Mr. Biggs and the baby that IS his wife had a baby in Jan 07.

Posted by: Carla on July 23, 2007 1:37PM EST
Eww! Stevie has a new baby?

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 1:37PM EST
Shay, A coward with no balls and no spine.

Posted by: on July 23, 2007 1:37PM EST

Posted by: Carla on July 23, 2007 1:38PM EST
What is the fascination with these old men?? There ain't no way!

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 1:39PM EST
No Shaun, he traded her in for a newer, younger model. hee, hee

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 1:41PM EST
M-O-N-E-Y! What else could it be? There's nothing appealing about a dried up prune/raisin.

Posted by: on July 23, 2007 1:41PM EST
dang, i am behind. How did B do Shay?

Posted by: on July 23, 2007 1:43PM EST

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 1:44PM EST
Cya later Shaun!

Posted by: Carla on July 23, 2007 1:45PM EST
I'll never want money that bad.

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 1:49PM EST
Shaun, B was amazing. I was so jealous. That was the best concert I have ever been to in my life. She did all of DC songs and then all the songs on both of her albums. She closed the show letting "us" sing Irreplaceable and she ended the note saying "Atlanta you are irreplaceable"!! She dabbed her face and handed the towel to a little boy, who was speechless. A grown arse lady caught it and was trying to keep the towel. Beyonce was like, uh uh, give him that. Beyonce loves the kids! Then she left the stage.

It was a very well put together concert!!

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 1:53PM EST
Carla, I think I can get with Ronald Isley before I can let Stevie touch me. Both of them are old and nasty, but still, Stevie's hairline is just ridiculous.

Posted by: Eve07 on July 23, 2007 1:55PM EST
Hey Guys, anyone still here????????

Go Tasia!! I am so happy my girl is finally getting the praise she deserves. A friend of mine is in NY this week and she was right beside Fantasia in a store there. She said the girl is a lot smaller than she looks on tv and in photo's and that she looks good. I don't think she's as small as the photo we saw though.

Shay, glad you had a good time at the concert.

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 1:55PM EST
LMBO...Stevie's hairline is virtually non-existant. LOL

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 1:56PM EST
Eve, after seeing Beyonce Friday night, the camera definitely puts on pounds. She looked extremely tiny in herson. She didn't even look tall to me and she was very slim.

Posted by: Eve07 on July 23, 2007 1:59PM EST
Hey Shay, I heard the same thing about Mary J. Blige, that she is very tiny in person. I actually thought Beyonce was tall.

Posted by: Carla on July 23, 2007 1:59PM EST
I am so jealous shay. Stop talking about it!

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 2:01PM EST
Shay, you were right...check your mail

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 2:01PM EST
My bad Carla!!! There was a 40 something year old man in front of us that would not sit down. His wife was so embarrased that she left him midways through the concert. He was getting on everyone's nerves because there was a kid sitting directly behind him and she was crying because she couldn't see. He still didn't move. He was like 300 pounds and about 6'1".

Posted by: Carla on July 23, 2007 2:07PM EST
That's ridiculous. Poor kid.

Posted by: shay on July 23, 2007 2:13PM EST
I hate when people do that. Act like they are the only ones at a concert.

Posted by: Eve07 on July 23, 2007 2:14PM EST
What happened on the other thread?????? I went back and read the posts since I wasn't able to read it this morning and the tension over there is thick enough to cut with a knife. Now I understand.

Posted by: Eve07 on July 23, 2007 2:16PM EST
Shay that is one of my biggest pet peeves about concerts. That's why they have floor sections for the people who want to stand at the stage, everyone in seats, should SIT in their dang seats. If I were that kids mom I would have had to find someone to make his big arse sit down.

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on July 23, 2007 2:37PM EST
Eve, that's why I asked everyone to lay off the MV talk for the day. I knew what is was going to lead to. That issue has soooo many undertones that hasn't been addressed on this blog...it's like no one talking about the pink elephant in the room. I knew it would get ugly...and that was the bottom line.

Posted by: Eve07 on July 23, 2007 3:00PM EST
I agree Choc, that's why I asked last week if we could refrain from the MV hate, because that's all I was reading, not the allegations but the hate some people had for him. Mos def a touchy subject.
