Yes, it’s the last day and we are so excited! Well, not really. But season six is almost over. Check out my “Idol Chatter” video at if you want to watch me and Steve Almasy gab about the show last night. I wasn’t on my A game. I’ll have to rock it tomorrow, the last one!
At least three previous winners will show up tonight: Carrie, Kelly and Taylor. I figure Fantasia is doing Broadway but where’s Ruben? And the ever-reliable reports Green Day, Tony Bennett and Gladys Knight will perform tonight.
Jordin is a monstrous favorite now to win, . Odds of her winning are 1-to-40. In other words, you bet $40, you win a whopping $1 (or $41— your intial bet plus $1) on bookmaker.com. Early ratings numbers from last night indicate 24 to 25 million viewers, down from more than 31 million for the final two performance show a year ago. That’s no surprise. I anticipate the finale will draw around 30 million, down from 36 million or so a year ago.

Said Tirie, “Our goal was twofold: to elevate the songwriter craft and to let America choose the winning song.”

Eve, I think Meredith may have two sisters because one not only has a hubby she has a new baby too. I think that sister looked a lot like the mother that just died. I don't think Mer knows about the second one. What's going to happen to George now that he didn't pass the Intern exam? Who's going to be chief now that McDreamy turned it down? What's with Callie getting chief resident over Bailey?
Yeah, I thought it was a bit extreme for Edie to hang herself (if that was really her). Gabby got exactly what she deserved. It was cool that Susan and Mike got married like they did. It is interesting how Bree came back - I kinda lost track of that story line. I don't remember when we stopped seeing her (I know that the actress just had twins so she was probably gone for that).

I just spoke with Ruben's manager. He said he can't tell me what Ruben's doing right now, then he laughed mischievously. You can read between the lines there. I'd say a Ruben appearance would be most excellent!

Obviously Blake & Jordin...Haley, Gina, Melinda, LaKisha, well...let's just say all of them (except for Sanjaya..I messed up spelling his name 3 times wow). Maybe Chris Sligh too...I thought he was kinda boring...and I don't know...the rest were ok.

Kelly Clarkson may be feuding with her label head Clive Davis, but she's got nothing but love for "American Idol."
TMZ has learned that Kelly -- and all winners from seasons past, except Fantasia -- will be back performing on the "American Idol" stage for tonight's finale.
Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Hicks are headed to the Kodak Theater, but Fantasia Barrino won't be, since she is headlining Oprah Winfrey's production of "The Color Purple" on Broadway.
Sources tell TMZ Gladys Knight will perform "Midnight Train to Georgia" with the top six female finalists, while Smokey Robinson will join the top six male finalists for a rendition of "Ooh Baby Baby." Most recently booted finalist Melinda Doolittle will sing with brother and sister gospel duo BeBe and CeCe Winans, while the hairiffic Sanjaya duets with Aerosmith's Joe Perry to the Kinks' "You Really Got Me." It's sure to be an unbeweavable night!
Beat-boxing finalist Blake Lewis will show off his mad skillz against rapper Doug E. Fresh, and then duet with fellow finalist and probable winner, Jordin Sparks, to the Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There." Since producers were able to finally get clearance to use Beatles music, a medley of Fab Four hits will be performed as well.
Luckily, we're told no one is expected to be exhumed a la Elvis on tonight's finale!
UPDATE: A well-placed source tells TMZ that anti-establishment rockers Green Day sold out and will be on the "American Idiot" "Idol" finale too!

IdolLvr..It's alright. I have a habit of recording shows on my DVR, and they will stay there forever until I finally break down and watch them. This is not a good thing.. I had the whole season of the Dead Zone recorded last year, and my DVR just wiped everything off one day. So, I don't even know what happened last season.

CoCo was on there last week while they were in the studio. She was getting frustrated because the other two couldn't hit any notes. Taj admitted that they were too dependent on CoCo to do all the lead parts when they were a group.
No shi*, I always thought CoCo was the only vocalist. LeLe used to just smile all the time. And the fact that she had to sell her body to make ends meet kinda proves her vocal ability when she went solo. Instead of solo she should have known that was a "hell no". And Taj best be glad Eddie George took her in and married her because she tow up too!

IdolLVR the scary thing is those outfits are ALL BLAKE. They had an interview and it was said that while most of the Idols took advice and even allowed stylists to help them select outfits, that Blake chose all of his outfits himself and only asked the stylists for hair and accesories tips.

I think this season was a great year for AI. I know we had some annoying characters, but Jordin/Melinda/Lakisha provided an unprecedented trio of female vocal talent, Blake was a one in a million performer, Sanjaya was the great sideshow act, Haley had the great legs and fine ass shaking, Chris gave the boyband kids something to watch, and Phil stepped it up at the end with some smooth country tunes. I could have lived without the wretched "Idol gives back" episode, but otherwise I say it was an aswesome season.
To all you crybabies who hate the show now because Melinda didn't win, well, can it. It was a great year and Jordin deserves to win.

Mitch, at least Haley deserved to make it further than Chris! I know that you don't dig the ladies and all, but Chris was brutal and Haley was at least a pleasant singer. Not top 5 talent vocally, but us hounds definitely deserved one more week of that sweet fox.
