2/28: Sick of Antonella yet?
By: Rodney Ho | February 28, 2007, 2:15PM EST

Antonella%20Barba%202.jpg SOURCE: American Idol

Access Hollywood showed some of the photos of Antonella floating around the Web to Simon Cowell at some party last night at the Playboy Masnion and he reacted thusly: “You know what, whoever sold those is despicable. I really mean that. It’s despicable. That is private property. Out of order. Honestly. It’s repulsive.”

I don’t think the photos were “sold” per se but the source of the shots of her in the fountain has yet to be sussed out.

The reporter Laura Saltman noted:

When I spoke to Simon outside the party during a smoke break (him, not me) he told me he hoped the culprit would be identified soon. Randy expressed the same sentiment when I spoke to him briefly inside the party. He had not spoken to Antonella telling me they have little to no contact with the contestants other than the show tapings. I expressed my sorrow for even having to ask such questions to both Randy and Simon . Simon told me he was happy he got to address it and besides he loves the controversy, that it was good for the show and joked there were probably a lot more coming.

The reporter also talked to Bo Bice at the party but didn’t reveal anything related to his RCA record deal, just his sympathies for Antonella’s situation.

Hugh Hefner, of course, would love her in Playboy.

Well, like Deirdre said, whether the pics are true or not, her reputation unfortunately is ruined.

Posted by: Jex on February 28, 2007 3:06PM EST
Oh, I thought this was one of the pictures and they just photo shopped the guy out of it. I thought, “Good for her. At least she doesn’t discriminate.”

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 3:07PM EST
Jex, you need to stop. ROFLMAO!!!!!!

Posted by: Luvstoread on February 28, 2007 3:09PM EST
I hope I don't offend anybody by making this comment. If Simon is a smoker, I feel sorry for Paula. I just hate the way it makes people smell.
So, now maybe I can understand why she makes those strange expressions with her face.

Posted by: linnykat on February 28, 2007 3:22PM EST
Jex.... that has to be the best of the day among a LOT of great *ahem* gags...i mean comments.

Posted by: NCGirlfromATL on February 28, 2007 3:23PM EST
Sorry for the post...having ajc blogging issues...this is just a test.

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 3:24PM EST
Well it's a good thing I don't smoke. Wouldn't want to stand next to you in a crowded restaurant. Geez!

Nah, I am kidding!! I understand exactly what you mean Luvs. Try this on for size. A drunk person that smells like cigarettes too. Now that is an awful smell.

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 3:26PM EST
Linny, we can always count on Jex to bring it home!!

Posted by: Jex on February 28, 2007 3:26PM EST
LOL! I think she can handle it linny!

Posted by: on February 28, 2007 3:27PM EST
Jex, that was hilarious, I almost choked, oh wait, that is what Antonella said.

Posted by: Jex on February 28, 2007 3:29PM EST
We are SO bad!

Posted by: linnykat on February 28, 2007 3:31PM EST
gawd...can you imagine Rodney trying to explain the XXX rated Blog to AJC.... i mean, we're not there ... YET ... but with THIS creative crowd, it can't be far behind...

*joins D whistling*

Posted by: on February 28, 2007 3:33PM EST
Thanks Mitch, I never knew how to find the new blog... I always get lost.

Posted by: AmyG on February 28, 2007 3:34PM EST
Good afternoon everyone...I haven't been on here much lately - the baby has been sick and I had my midterms this week - I think I am going to have to withdrawal from one of my classes so I don't get a D.

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 3:36PM EST
Sorry to hear that Amy. I used the withdrawal method several times in college and it cost me in the end.

Wait! That didn't come out correct either. We must have been on this Antonella topic to long.

Posted by: AmyG on February 28, 2007 3:37PM EST
The problem is though, if I get a D, I have to retake the class anyway.

Posted by: AmyG on February 28, 2007 3:38PM EST
Ok, I have a question for everyone...

Posted by: on February 28, 2007 3:38PM EST
Hey Amy, I promise to God, I was just saying today, where is Amy? Hope the little one is better.

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 3:39PM EST
Then I would withdraw ASAP. Getting a D is even worse. Like I said, my transcript looked like someone was trying to say D and kept stuttering .

DDDDDDD Dee!

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 3:39PM EST
what's your question?

Posted by: on February 28, 2007 3:40PM EST
Amy talk to your professor, cry if you have to. let him or her know you are a mother, wife and working full time.

Posted by: AmyG on February 28, 2007 3:41PM EST
My mother-in-law lives in another state and came to visit us from Sat to today. My husband went out of town for work yesterday morning. While I was at school yesterday, my m-i-l went into our bedroom (the door was closed) and into our closet (the door was closed) to get the laundry so that she could do the laundry. Do you think I should be as mad about it as I am?

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 3:43PM EST
Amy, how close are the two of you?

Posted by: linnykat on February 28, 2007 3:44PM EST
well AmyG, you can be mad because she snooped (i am sure it feels that way) OR you can just take a deeeeep breath and be glad she's at LEAST doing the laundry (while she snoops?)

glass half empty/half full?

Posted by: AmyG on February 28, 2007 3:44PM EST
I mean, don't get me wrong, I appreciate the gesture, but as a guest, I don't think you should violate the sanctity of the host's master bedroom (especially when the door is closed). Am I making too much out of nothing? I didn't tell her I was mad (I just kept my mouth shut and said thanks), but the next time she comes into town, I am going to lock my bedroom door to get the point across, I think.

Posted by: linnykat on February 28, 2007 3:45PM EST
p.s. i HATED it when my mil did the same sort of stuff, so i know where you ARE... just wondering if i should have dealt with it without anger, because i refused to have much of anything to do with her for years, and it cost my husband's closeness to his sister (although HE doesn't blame me, he felt the same way)

Posted by: Jex on February 28, 2007 3:47PM EST
Amy I had the exact same issue with my EX-M.I.L. She may have meant well, but I didn't like it. I never said anything. I just got over it.

Too many other things to really be concerned with. Like the cute little one of yours.

Posted by: AmyG on February 28, 2007 3:48PM EST
thx for the support guys, I really appreciate it. :)

Posted by: Jex on February 28, 2007 3:50PM EST
No problem. But next time, keep a bunch of Antonella toys and paraphanalia in the hamper and a couple of whips and chains lying around.

That'll learn her!

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 3:50PM EST
Amy, my mother in law is similar, and I have to specifically tell her not to do certain things. Otherwise, she thinks she is helping out. I was so embarrassed when I had my baby because I was so sick and weak coming out of the hospital, she had to "help" me do certain things if you know what I mean and I felt very uncomfortable. But she is a nurse and it wasn't a big deal to her. Unless you thought that she was actually snooping and not there for getting dirty laundry, I wouldn't say anything. If it was geniune and she was trying to help, I say leave it alone.

Posted by: Jex on February 28, 2007 3:52PM EST
My last code was UOK. LOL! Uh, apparently not!

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 3:58PM EST
Jex, how are U going to juggle AI and ANTM tonight?

Posted by: Jex on February 28, 2007 4:00PM EST
Oh NO! Do they come on at the same time! I'm not ready for Top Model yet. I'm still in my music critic mode.

I usually record one and watch the other live. I'll probably record ANTM so I can ff past the commercials.

Posted by: Mitch on February 28, 2007 4:02PM EST
While I was home for lunch, I tried to help my other half get set up for the blog. He kept getting errors when he tried to log in. I will look at it more when I get home but if you see a "Paul" in here from NC, that is him.

Posted by: Jex on February 28, 2007 4:04PM EST
Okay, Mitch. We'll be nice to him.

Posted by: linnykat on February 28, 2007 4:05PM EST
Hey Mitch! Well if Paul gets here, we'll initiate him warmly ... just you might wanna warn him about how absolutely crazy we are!

Posted by: Mitch on February 28, 2007 4:06PM EST
I had him ready early this AM before I went home for lunch. I think he has a good idea what to expect. He will fit right in.

Posted by: Mitch on February 28, 2007 4:08PM EST
I am too tired here at work. I was trying to say tht I had him reading early this AM...

Posted by: Carla on February 28, 2007 4:11PM EST
So it looks as though you all had an enjoyable day on here. Too much work to blog today. I'll be back tonight. Bye!

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 4:13PM EST
Glad you corrected that Mitch. I actually thought you said you had him early this AM before I went home for lunch. I was like "WTF?" Way too much info. LOL!!!!

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 4:14PM EST
Carla, Jex was bad today. I on the other hand was the sweet angel I always am.

Posted by: Mitch on February 28, 2007 4:15PM EST
It has been a LOOOOOONG day. Hmmm...someone we know likes looooong things...huh??

Posted by: Mitch on February 28, 2007 4:16PM EST
OK who is the code guy? mine last one was "I Up"

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 4:18PM EST
I haven't had any weird codes today thank goodness.

Posted by: Jex on February 28, 2007 4:20PM EST
shay, if you're an angel, Antonella is a virgin.

I'm not saying it can't happen. . .

Posted by: Eve07 on February 28, 2007 4:20PM EST
Mitch that's nothing, mine was eew! Peace out guys, I have truly earned my keep today and I am exhausted. Happy Idol.

Shay, I'm skipping ANTM tonight, I'll wait until Tyra weeds out the extras and start fresh next week.

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 4:27PM EST
Eve, someone goes home tonight on ANTM so you will miss the first person that goes home.

And Jex, I guess Antonella is a virgin then. If you don't do the deed, but take the "Antonella" route, does that make you still a virgin. I'm just sayin'...

Posted by: Jex on February 28, 2007 4:32PM EST
Well, if you look at it that way, I'm a virgin in some asspects.

I know, I know. That was bad.

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 4:34PM EST
LOL!! Jex, that was ...... You know what, I am not going to even respond to that one.

Posted by: Jex on February 28, 2007 4:37PM EST
I know eeeww. LOL!

Well, I'm out. I've got to get ready to do my critiques for tonight.

Where would these shows be without me?

Posted by: shay on February 28, 2007 4:39PM EST
see you later

Posted by: Mitch on February 28, 2007 4:42PM EST
C/ya on tonight Jex

Posted by: linnykat on February 28, 2007 4:42PM EST
lawsy-mercy! i have to agree tho about the code guy, sometimes the 3 letters are just waaaaaay too close for comfort!

later blawgpound, will try to jump online during commercials, tv is in another room from the 'puter, so ...

peaceout!

Posted by: Mitch on February 28, 2007 4:42PM EST
gotta luv the laptop. Have a good 1 Linny.

Posted by: Diane1 on February 28, 2007 5:21PM EST
I am missing a few phots of Antonella. I would hate to sit that close to someone 3 imtes a week if a smoke break is necessary. Hopefully he bathes and changes clothes before the show begins and is not allowed smoke breaks during the show.

Also, do you think that the judges are allowed to listen to the original song that each contestant sings each week when necessary? No way can they know about every possible song and they have to compare it to the performance that night.

Posted by: WandaC on February 28, 2007 6:10PM EST
Okay, all y'all send you MILs to my house. They can do anything they want here, clean, cook, laundry....

I know what you mean, but in her eyes she was just going into her little boy's room again and gathering up his dirtys. Force of habit, and trying to feel useful. Don't be too hard on her. Can you tell that I'm a MIL? LOL!

Posted by: Bagface on February 28, 2007 10:03PM EST
Melinda was the best tonight, followed by Stephanie, Lakisha, Gina, Jordin, and Sabrina. My top 6.

Posted by: diane mcfadden on March 4, 2007 3:47PM EST
i think that the girl who sang aerosmith really killed the song. she really sucked. her next debut sucked also. they got rid of alot of talent that should have been there. i guess america is a free country but its is time to judge people on their talents in regard to song and not what they can do on porno. she should have been cut after the first song of aerosmith. how dare her. and america.!!!!!
