10/30: DeGarmo Gone Country/Blake single
By: Rodney Ho | October 29, 2007, 9:02AM EST

A blogger took photos of Diana DeGarmo performing at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon for a taping of the show “Gone Country.” Here’s the link.. According to the blogger, she got a good reception. Brenda, her mom, should be thrilled that Diana’s guitar had the words “Love Ya, Momma!” on it.

Other contestants she’s competing with include former Atlantan Bobby Brown, “Brady Bunch” alum Maureen McCormick and Wilson Phillips signer Carnie Wilson.

Carrie got to sing the National Anthem over the weekend for the World Series. Just his luck: Taylor Hicks was supposed to do so last night if there had been a game five of the World Series. But those pesky Red Sox swept the Rockies so no primetime exposure for Taylor.

Clay’s appearance on “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” is this Thursday so set up your Tivo. I’m sure he’ll be a hoot. I’ll preview it if I get an advance copy.

And Blake is offering a preview of his single “Break Anotha” here..

Morning shay. You get my snicker doodle ;-(

Office Pet Peeves. Work colleagues who spend their day gossiping, organizing their home lives, or who press "reply all" on e-mails are among the biggest nuisances in the office, according to a survey released on Monday. The second biggest peeve at 54 percent was poor time management which included people making personal phones calls at work or surfing the Internet during work time.

Messiness in communal spaces, such as unwashed dishes in the kitchen sinks, irked 45 percent of respondent while potent smells like perfume, food, or smoke, came in fourth in the list with 42 percent.

Rounding out the list of seven office peeves came loud noises such as speaker phones, loud talking and loud phone ring tones at 41 percent, overuse of electronic personal communications devices in meetings at 28 percent and misuse of e-mail at 22 percent.

Cool!

I prolly won't be on much today. The little one is sick again. I had to drop him off at school anyway for an hour or two so that I could come and do a little work. Then, I have to go back and pick him up before the meds wear off. I know, bad, bad, mommy but I had too. I have some stuff I have to get done. We were up all night with the wheezing and coughing and 103 fever.

Morning blogmates! I think I have all my neglected chores done but that may be just a fantasy world I'm living in!

shay, sorry to hear about the youngun. Hope he's better soon. It's that time of the year!

YoD...did I read that I appeared to you in a dream? I hope I was young, skinny and gorgeous!!!! :-)

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on October 30, 2007 8:26AM EST
Good morning all!

Shay, you're not a bad mother, just one that works! ( :

I am WFH today...not feeling too well and I didn't want to bring my moody, achy, irritable self into the office and subject co-workers unnecessarily. LOL

Posted by: mynana on October 30, 2007 8:27AM EST
Shay, that's not being bad. Sometimes I did that with mine, because they might have felt better after the meds. You do what you gotta do sometimes. I've got time to finish entering this morning too. Just didn't want to do it last night. Tired of the coding.

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 8:28AM EST
It seems like he every single time he gets a cold, it is followed by fever and asthma related problems. Why can't he just have a cold. End of story!

D, I had the same question. How did I look? How was my hair? What size was I? LOL!! That stuff matters to a gal.....especially in someone's dream!
:-)

Posted by: Deirdre on October 30, 2007 8:29AM EST
Rodney...I'm hoping Blake's new cd does well. I think the kid has a lot of potential!

And Diana looked great in those pictures. When and where does that show air? I know you told us but I can't remember!

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 8:31AM EST
Good morning all...

Shay.. Sorry to hear about your son. Give him a get well hug from all of us..

Nana. Did you catch Brothers and Sisters? Kitty pregnant? I was not expecting that one. And, what is with Tommy? Overall, I thought it was a good episode.

So, based on the Office Pet Peeves.. The Ole Skool thing must mean something. Studio 54 is in the house!! ;-)

Posted by: Deirdre on October 30, 2007 8:32AM EST
LOL!!! Absolutely, shay! Not what was I doing or saying but how did I LOOK!!!

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 8:34AM EST
Well, at least you weren't borrowing detergent. Obviously, I was jobless in this dream. But still, the most important part is, was I looking cute while jobless :-)

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 8:41AM EST
Shay,

Get that boy better!!! (sounds like you're already doin that!)
I had asthma as a young'un. Lots of times they kinda grow out of it.

Posted by: mynana on October 30, 2007 8:42AM EST
Luvs, B&S, was really good. I didn't see kitty being pg either. Do u think it will ultimately be the end of the political career? And the custody fight for the kids. Made me cry. Do you think he wants custody for the child support he can get?

Shay, he'll feel better before you know. How are you, tired I'll bet.

Posted by: kellyfan on October 30, 2007 8:43AM EST
Morning y'all!

Shay, hope you get some rest at some point!

I gotta get dressed up as Halloween for my office. They take this seriously around here. We even had a meeting to review! I decided I'm gonna be Chris Crocker ("Leave Britney Alone!") Should be interesting....

Hope y'all are having a good Tuesday.

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 8:43AM EST
Nana,

I have no idea where A-Rod will end up....I can say it won't be ATL obviously, they can't even keep a good player like Rentertia, not to mention Druw. I bet the yankees will go after Druw, they'll have lots of money and they like good players there.

Posted by: YoDaddy on October 30, 2007 8:43AM EST
shay - I said yesterday that you looked like you just came from work. Very professional and besides, the detergent was jut a ploy to talk to Ken alone. D - you looked like my aunt Ramona at about age 40. You were wearing a nice skirt/jacket combo and you were well coiffed and made up. My aunt is one of those women who won't even go to the mailbox unless she is well put together. Not overdone, just always looking good. YOU BOTH LOOKED GOOD! The point is why were y'all in my dream visiting my country redneck buddy out at his farm in Rincon, Ga? I should be dreaming about Luvs in his Roman toga costume!

Morning everybody!

Posted by: mynana on October 30, 2007 8:43AM EST
BTW, DWTS, I still like my Cameron. And I think it will be either Jane or Marie going home this week. Jane's jive was very uninspiring.

And what's with the Bachelor keeping the chick around whose parents couldn't stand him. WTH

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 8:44AM EST
Aww.... Thanks Yo!!

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 8:46AM EST
Nana...
Shhh...Don't tell anyone, but I have been watching too. That was a shocker. I don't think she is going to be in the final two though.

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 8:46AM EST
LOL at Yo!! Luvs has a toga costume?? It's 32 degrees outside. Make sure your Roman hinny is covered tomorrow night or you are going to freeze.

Posted by: YoDaddy on October 30, 2007 8:48AM EST
Chris Crocker - that's hilarious, kellyfan.

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 8:50AM EST
Nana, I admit to watching about 10 minutes of teh Bachelor each season.....can't figure out why folks would want to do that to themselves...

Posted by: Deirdre on October 30, 2007 8:53AM EST
YoD...LOL!!! Your Aunt Ramona!!!! At least I was classy!!! I think your dream was telling you that you need more women in your life! (I didn't say 'love life', I just said 'life'!) :-) shay and I must have made some kind of impression on you (I won't ask what kind. :-) )

Posted by: kellyfan on October 30, 2007 8:57AM EST
I loved Jennie on DWTS last night. I think she the most improved. I do have to say that Cameron was really good as well.

I really can't stand The Bachelor. I mean really, other than Trista and Ryan, has there been a sucessful relationship?

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 9:00AM EST
Shay...
Will do. Of course, the cold weather just makes thing perk up that much more. Just ask Nips.. ;-)

Nana... Hope that is not the case with Joe. Kitty's pregnancy does add quite a bit of drama to Robert's campaign though...

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 9:02AM EST
I think you could make a very strong argument that the Bachelor is definitely exploitation of women.

:-O

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 9:04AM EST
And whatever happened to AmyG?

Posted by: Eve07 on October 30, 2007 9:10AM EST
Good morning all!

RC, why am I in the dog house? I only said you and Shaun were one in the same, LOL.

Shay, I hope your little boo is better, I hate to see little ones sick. Did you watch The Game last night? Malik was impressive last night, huh?

Nana and Luvs, I loved B&S Sunday. Happy for Kitty and McAllister showed that he was the "man" by standing behind her and I cried too Nana when Sara's kids walked out that door. Me no likey Joe at all, now. What's with Rebecca's slutty friend? Next week she's going after Justin.

Well back to work for a minute, check in with you guys later.

Choc, feel better.

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 9:14AM EST
Eve, Malik was very impressive. He was looking good last night. Too good!

Posted by: Jex on October 30, 2007 9:18AM EST
Good Morning Everyone!

Shay tell your little one that Auntie Jex sent him a get well kiss, then kiss his little forehead while you're wearing Wet & Wild #704. Then show him the lip print in the mirror. That'll make him feel better.

Choc, if I've told you a hun'erd times, I've told you once. Drink a glass of water after each Yagermeister shot. And just like clothes, it's best to keep the darks away from the lights. Vodka an Henny don't mix, Sweetie. Now, go eat some crackers.

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 9:20AM EST
you ain't in the dog house yet Evie!!! You are right in a way....me and Shaun are the same in some aspects...we both have been known to be the baby's daddy!

:-)

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 9:22AM EST
LOL@JEX!!!

you is crazy.....

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 9:23AM EST
Jex,

Did I see you at Target yesterday?

Posted by: linnykat on October 30, 2007 9:25AM EST
RC, you sound like hubby re the Bravos.... he put away his braves hats sunday, told me to pack them away, he's boycotting the team this year. he was already pretty ticked off at some of the trades during the year, but druw gone, he just said that's IT! no more! and last night when they showed rents was gone, he just muttered under his breath.

guess i'll be watching the bravos alone next year

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 9:26AM EST
nana,

momma Shay ain't feelin' too good today. I slept about 1 1/2 hours and my head is aching from lack of sleep. I can't even do the little work I came to do. I think I better head home and blog from there.

Posted by: Jex on October 30, 2007 9:26AM EST
And how DARE those smelly Red Sox sweep the Rockies and deny my Tay-Tay a command performance.

How.

DARE.

THEY!!!!!

freakin' frackin' canasana ranabramanbam!

Posted by: Jex on October 30, 2007 9:27AM EST
Sorry, Ara. I'm a Walmart gal, through and through. I only go to Target when I gets my refund check.

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 9:28AM EST
Linny, I will watch the game with ya'. Where is Javy Lopez anyway? Dude ain't paid me child support since 1997.

Posted by: Jex on October 30, 2007 9:30AM EST
Same here, with Ara shay. Talkin' 'bout, he gonna give me a lil something every month.

Yeah, right.

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 9:31AM EST
Jex, don't you just like going to walmart and getting an Icee and popcorn and just walking around. They sell everything. Hell, don't they sell Baby Phat now. Only in Walmart can you get your oil changed for $20.00, while you go get a pedicure and shop for all your Christmas gifts while eating McDonalds. I'm just sayin'.

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 9:32AM EST
Jex, never trust a man in their 40's. They will pimp you for your goodies then think they can come hit it once a month to get out of their fatherly duties.

Posted by: YoDaddy on October 30, 2007 9:33AM EST
shay, Javy called...he said he bought you a big box of Pampers just last month!

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 9:35AM EST
Jex....that's why I asked about Target. Iwas thinking botu taking you in there an buying you a bag of that popcorn they cook...

Posted by: mynana on October 30, 2007 9:35AM EST
Jex, I'm with you girl. They should have at least let Taylor lead in God Bless America, since they knew they were going to be swept.

Luvs, you thing he's gonna go with Deanna from Ga. She seems best suited for him. And what was with the Sheena's Mom. Did you start laughing at her not being able to hold a conversation with him?

And I'm not sure what Joe is doing, but I don't get a good feeling from this. He seems to be turning nasty. And Rebecca is just after someone in that family for some reason. Gold digger perhaps?

Okay, I'm off the blog for a bit, time to enter. Check in in a bit.

Posted by: Jex on October 30, 2007 9:35AM EST
Shay, my friends call me Miss WalMart USA. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but it is the perfect nomenclature for one of my discount store shopping status.

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 9:37AM EST
Last month?? Um, tell Javy the baby is potty trained and we need him to be purchasing underwear now.

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 9:38AM EST
SHAY!!!

dayum that Javy....now I know the truth behind why you didn't have time for me after we went to skool together and had them babies. Guess you gettin yours now? No support? I feel better.....

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 9:41AM EST
Linny,

Looks like the Bravos are officially NOT a big market team anymore......they had their run I reckon.....I understand why your hubs is upset.

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 9:41AM EST
Ara, Javy was so late 90's after Andruw.

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 9:48AM EST
O.k. so I am working at Turner Field at the age of 19 and one of the Colorado Rockies pitchers (I won't mention his name) walks over to me. So we chatted because I was a fan and I ask for his autograph. He proceeds to sign my baseball and this dude had the nerve to ask me to meet him in his hotel that night since they were visiting from out of town. Married as I don't know what!! Wife wasn't at the game since she was in Colorado prolly taking care of HIS kids. I politely turned him down but the nerve of his cheating arse. And that's all you think I am worth. A dayum autograph for sex.

MEN!

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 9:48AM EST
so what you do? Go through the whole team?

:-(

funny but I took the family to Orlando to see the preseason games when Javy was still with the team...we were sitting right behind the plate one game when Javy came to the on deck circle and was about 10-15 feet from us......my missus AND my daugter were saying/yelling stuff like..."WOOHOO!! GO Javy!!!" for some reason I knew they weren't admiring his practice swings..... :-)

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 9:50AM EST
Shay,

you just got that affect on men!!!

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 9:55AM EST
Ara, when he would bend down to catch, I would dayum near faint :-)

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 9:59AM EST
Nana...
Yes, I think he might be pick her. Of course, every year I have watched, I pick the other one who is left crying and all alone. ;-(...
Are you talking about the new office manager and not Rebecca? What was Tommy thinking having sex with that girl is beyond me. Oh yeah, he wasn't thinking with the right head. ;-)...

Posted by: Jex on October 30, 2007 10:00AM EST
shay, don't blame him. There are plenty of women who would jump at a chance like that. How was he to know you had morals?

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on October 30, 2007 10:23AM EST
Where's everyone?

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on October 30, 2007 10:26AM EST
On Brothers and Sisters...Kitty being pregnant didn't surprise me as much as Joe fighting for primary custody...what a jackarse!! And Tommy...what a fool! The wife was weak for leaving the way she did but he has opened a can of worms that can't be closed! This girl is going to "screw" him in more ways than one! LOL

Posted by: Eve07 on October 30, 2007 10:34AM EST
Hey Choc and Jexy!

Choc I didn't know you were a B&S fan. I agree about the office chic, she is going to screw Tommy (literally) bigtime. Why, oh why are some men so dayum gullible? It's so obvious that she has a hidden agenda. That's why Kevin is my boy on that show, he tells it like it is.

I'm back to work!

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 10:40AM EST
Choc and Eve...
Tommy thought he had a rocky marriage before. Helena is going to take him to the cleaners!!

Posted by: kellyfan on October 30, 2007 10:45AM EST
I fell asleep before B&S...I'm gettin' old!

As far as Javy, that's my guy! I actually recall saying outloud at the stadium: "He's got the best ASSets in the majors..." I heard the people around me laugh.

I met him once at a signing, he seemed nice enough. I always thought it was a small world that his sister married Juan Gonzalez who had an affair and left her. Then, he married the mistress and left her too!

Posted by: Eve07 on October 30, 2007 10:46AM EST
So true Luvs. Next week she's going to be flirting with Justin.

Posted by: mynana on October 30, 2007 11:00AM EST
Luvs, yea, I was talking about the Office Manager. Me and names, don't work good sometimes. And yes, Tommy messed up big time and looks like he's going to continue to mess up. And the OM (hoe) has something planned, you can count on that.

What I don't like about Bachelor, is how it seems that he (from next week's preview) will be spending the night with all 3. That's ucky to me.

My favs were Sara and Charlie O and looks like they have split. There are only 2 couple still together. The obvious, Tristan and Ryan and I think Bryan and Mary from No. 6 were supposed to get married this Spring.
Work done, now I can play.

Posted by: flat screen on October 30, 2007 11:00AM EST
GOOD MORNING ALL...I LOVE ALL OF YALL AND CONSIDER YALL PART OF MY FAMILY!!!!!(((((((((((((((BLAWGROUND FOLKS)))))))))))))GO DAWGS..BEAT TROY!!!!!!

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on October 30, 2007 11:03AM EST
I will not watch the Bachelor for reasons I've stated before...it's demeaning to women, pitting them against one another trying to get a man's attention

Look at me! I'm prettier than her..she's a skank! Don't you want me? Please pick meeee!

Sickening!!!

Posted by: Jex on October 30, 2007 11:07AM EST
Choc, that's every Friday night at any club in
Atlanter.

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on October 30, 2007 11:10AM EST
LOL...that's why I don't do clubs and prolly why I'm still single.

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 11:13AM EST
Choc...

Perhaps, but there have been some women on there who have not played the game so to speak. And, they usually end up alright in the end.

Nana... I think Brad was more frightened by star gazer Mom than the judgmental Dad. ;-)

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on October 30, 2007 11:14AM EST
When my girls and I would go out to clubs, it wasn't to "meet" a guy...we went to dance and laugh mostly. THe only time we factored a guy into the equation was how we were going to get one or two to buy us breakfast at I-Hop before heading home. That was our MO!! LOL

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on October 30, 2007 11:16AM EST
Luvs, it just wreaks of desperation to me...competing, willingly & openly competing for a man! WTH?

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 11:21AM EST
Choc...
You are probably right, but then again I may just have rose colored glasses!!

Posted by: mynana on October 30, 2007 11:23AM EST
I watch it because it's good for a laugh to two on Monday night. Luvs, didn't you just love Brad's face when Sheena's mom was going on and on about "the one" in the stars for her daughter. Made me laugh. The show just makes me laugh.

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 11:25AM EST
Nana... So true..
He gave her that you belong in the loony bin look!!

Posted by: flat screen on October 30, 2007 11:33AM EST
I LOVE ALL TV SHOWS THAT ARE GOOD AND ALL THAT..I HATE THE BAD ONES AND ALL OF THAT TOO!

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 11:36AM EST
why did I feel like eating breakfast food for lunch? Bacon, eggs, cheese grits, and buttermilk biscuits.

Posted by: linnykat on October 30, 2007 11:38AM EST
so..... gang, who would you like to be MAROONed with on a deserted isle?

just asking

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 11:38AM EST
Shay...
With some pancakes too. Just plain grits for me though.. ;-) It's time for lunch.. Yippeee!!!

Posted by: linnykat on October 30, 2007 11:40AM EST
hubby fixed breakfast for supper for me the other night.... bacon, sausage, eggs, grits, biscuits.... oooh lawsy that was GOOOOOD eatin'!

Posted by: Jex on October 30, 2007 11:42AM EST
Shay, there is nothing wrong with that. Don't let anyone tell you different. I had steak and collard greens for 'breakfast' last week.

What?

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 11:42AM EST
Linny...
Are you asking who we want on the deserted island? ;-)

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 11:43AM EST
Luvs and Linny, I am eating it as we speak. There is this country breakfast place around the corner from my house. This older lady has owned it for years. She sure as hell can cook.

Posted by: linnykat on October 30, 2007 11:44AM EST
welllllll sorta.... what i was asking was who would you like to be MAROONed with ......

Posted by: linnykat on October 30, 2007 11:45AM EST
OMG>..... code guy, i'm blushing!!!!!! (last code was, i swear, "sex"!!!)

Posted by: linnykat on October 30, 2007 11:45AM EST
shay sounds gooood!

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 11:45AM EST
steak and collards??

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 11:46AM EST
Linny you go first... ;-) Andy Garcia in his hey day perhaps.

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 11:46AM EST
4 breakfast?

Posted by: linnykat on October 30, 2007 11:50AM EST
hmmmmm.... well.... let's see... back in the day, Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna).... Sean Connery at any age (duh)... (one of) the Barber twins...

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 11:50AM EST
I think the girls in their slobbering answered that question yesterday Linny.....

as for me, I have to say my missus. If she couldn't make it I might settle for someone like Mariah Carey. A big healthy fine-azz woman that can sing. I wouldn't care if she is crazy...what's that got to do with it anyway......

Posted by: Jex on October 30, 2007 11:51AM EST
What difference does it make what food you eat? Don't let society brainwash you.

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 11:52AM EST
RC...
Mariah is a good choice. Shaun might have first dibs on her though. ;-)

Posted by: flat screen on October 30, 2007 11:54AM EST
I LIKE FOOD THAT MAKES ME HUNGRY JUST LIKE WHAT YALL ARE TALKING ABOUT ON HERE TODAY.I REALLY HOPE THE DAWGS WIN THE EAST THIS YEAR!!!

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 11:55AM EST
Jex, I was more concerned with your stomach doing somersaults eating collards in the morning rather than what society has to say :-)

Posted by: mynana on October 30, 2007 11:55AM EST
Well I know who I'd like to send to me Marooned.....

But if it was me, I would have to have my family.

Posted by: RC on October 30, 2007 11:56AM EST
nah LUVS....er'body knows Shaun would choose Jex.

Posted by: Luvstoread on October 30, 2007 11:56AM EST
Linny...
I googled your Jorma. He's kind of old now, but the earlier pick I saw was nice. ;-)

Posted by: 1CHOCL8T on October 30, 2007 11:57AM EST
If I had my choice, I would be marooned with a guy named Matt. That's my heart's first choice.

LL Cool J or Will Smith following a close 2nd and 3rd. LOL

Posted by: shay on October 30, 2007 11:57AM EST
