A 74-year-old woman was killed in a house fire in Palmetto early Sunday morning, officials said.
Several fire departments responded to the home on Tatum Road in Palmetto, which is in southern Fulton County, according to a statement from the Palmetto Fire Department.
Glenda Gamblin was found unconscious in the home as thick smoke could be seen from outside, the statement said.
She was taken to Piedmont Fayette Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She was a longtime resident of Palmetto, the department said.
The cause of the fire, which started at about 12:20 a.m. Sunday, was determined to be accidental, starting in the kitchen, officials said.
