An Arkansas woman poked fun at herself on social media after she mistakenly sent photographs of herself to a car insurance company, instead of pictures of her vehicle.
Alyssa Stringfellow, a 25-year-old teacher from North Little Rock, decided to share “My really, really … REALLY blonde moment” on Facebook.
Stringfellow wanted to add herself to her grandmother’s car insurance policy and was asked to take front and side photographs of her Kia to complete the verification process. However, she misunderstood the request and took several photos of herself and emailed them to the insurance company.
Stringfellow received this email in response:
“I am going to need pictures like you just took, except it needs to be of your vehicle. :)”
“As you can see,” Stringfellow wrote on Facebook, “I didn’t send pictures of my car. … I sent him pictures of myself.”
Stringfellow called her grandmother, who said that she and the insurance agent laughed “for a good five minutes.”
“Needless to say, I was ridiculously embarrassed, and everyone at work had a good laugh at my obvious misinterpretation,” she wrote in her post. “The crazy thing is, I asked my mom to take the pictures after I got off work, and we discussed why in the world he would need pictures of me, never once considering it was supposed to be of my car.”
It was an honest mistake, and Stringfellow had the good grace to laugh at herself. She also quickly emailed photographs of the car to the insurance agent.
