Q: Why does a train horn blare every time the Falcons score a touchdown at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium?

A: When Mercedes-Benz Stadium opened in 2017, the sound of the train horn was added to "invoke the heritage of the city into the in-game experiences both with Atlanta United and the Atlanta Falcons," Heather Sautter, director of corporate and marketing communications for AMB Group, told Q&A on the News via email.
AMB Group is the parent company of the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and other Arthur Blank family businesses.
“Atlanta has been a rail town since the 1800s, so to bring that heritage to the stadium, we created experiences with the ‘golden spike’ during Atlanta United matches and a signature ‘train horn’ for scores and other big plays during both Atlanta Falcons games and Atlanta United matches,” she wrote. “The train horn itself pays homage to the origins of our city, our home.”
Q: What is the cost to demolish the Georgia Dome, including clean up of refuse?

A: AMB Group will not disclose the cost, Sautter told Q&A on the News.
The cleanup is scheduled to be complete by February 2018, she wrote.
