Donald Trump is the in-your-face real estate developer, entrepreneur and host of the NBC reality show, "The Apprentice."

Jeb Bush served as Florida governor from 1999 to 2007. He's the  brother of former President George W. Bush and the son of former President George H.W. Bush.

Scott Walker was first elected governor of Wisconsin in November 2010. He was forced into a recall election in 2012 after igniting controversy with a bill curtailing public employee union collective-bargaining rights. He survived the recall election, defeating Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. He won re-election to a four-year term in November 2014.

Mike Huckabee is a former governor of Arkansas; he also sought the Republican presidential nomination in 2008. He left hosting a self-titled television show on Fox News in January 2015.

Ben Carson is a retired pediatric neurosurgeon who lives in Maryland and is author of six bestselling books published by an international Christian media and publishing company.

Ted Cruz was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012. He is the former solicitor general for the state of Texas, former director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission, former  associate deputy attorney general at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Marco Rubio  was elected U.S. senator from Florida in 2010. He served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008 and is a former Speaker of the Florida House. He served on the West Miami City Commission from 1998 to 2000. He is from Miami and holds a law degree from the University of Miami.

Rand Paul was elected as a U.S. senator from Kentucky in 2010. Paul is a medical doctor and an ophthalmologist. His father is Ron Paul, a 2008 presidential candidate and a former member of Congress from Texas.

Chris Christie is the governor of New Jersey, elected first in 2010 and again in 2014.  Prior to that, he was U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey from 2002 to 2008.

John Kasich is the governor of Ohio and former congressman. He defeated Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland in 2010 and was reelected in 2014.
