The Georgia PTA, after a rough patch, is back in the good graces of the National PTA, which had threatened to revoke the group's charter.
An internal political fight early last year had prompted the charter threat, and the issues were apparently resolved by an organizational election in August. Delegates from across the state convened in Atlanta and, during a chaotic meeting, elected new leadership.

The Georgia PTA announced the charter restoration on Twitter Saturday, saying that the National took the group off probation on Dec. 20. There was no indication why the state organization waited more than two weeks to reveal it.
