Decatur schools cancel after school activities due to snow

City Schools of Decatur changed plans Friday as the snow started to pile up, announcing after noon that schools would close one hour early.

Earlier that morning, as the rain shifted to light snow, the system announced that only after school and Saturday activities were being cancelled but that schools would stick to regular hours.

Then the snow flakes fattened and began to pile up. The district alerted parents around 12:45 p.m. that “rapidly changing road conditions” caused the change in plans.
