The next school superintendent in Clayton County is reorganizing the district administration, with four deputy superintendents who will alternate as second in command.

Morcease Beasley, a former DeKalb County School District administrator, was hired by Clayton County Public Schools last summer as chief improvement officer. This spring, after a nationwide search, the Clayton school board named him sole finalist for superintendent.

Beasley succeeds Luvenia Jackson, who became superintendent in 2014 with a contract through June 30.

Beasley will be hiring. His new organization chart for the 54,000-student district shows eight vacant administrative positions.
