Hawks waive forward Matt Costello

The Hawks waived Matt Costello Monday to trim their training camp roster to 19 players.

The forward saw limited action during the preseason. He appeared in the Hawks’ first two exhibition games. He totaled eight points, seven rebounds and an assist in 18 minutes.

Costello went undrafted out of Michigan State. He signed a partially guaranteed contract with the Hawks this summer. He played for the Hawks entry in the Las Vegas Summer League before coming to training camp.

The Hawks must trim their roster to a maximum of 15 players by Oct. 26.
