How the winning run scored: Left fielder Leslie Anderson scored both runs for the host Bulls (63-35), the winning one on a sixth-inning home run, his 12th of the season.
At the plate: G-Braves were held to three hits, all singles. The only run came when Sean Kazmar opened the ninth with a walk, took second on a single, third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a wild pitch.
On the mound: Atlanta right-hander Brandon Beachy gave up one run with four strikeouts and two walks in four innings in his fifth rehab start for the G-Braves. The run came on a single followed by the two walks and a sacrifice fly. Reliever Omar Poveda gave up the other run with two hits, five strikeouts and no walks in four innings.
What’s next for the G-Braves: First baseman Ernesto Mejia is off to the Triple-A All Star festivities in Reno, Nev., where he will be one of six players in the Home Run Derby Monday and the G-Braves’ only player on the roster for Wednesday’s All-Star game. The G-Braves (41-57) return to home Thursday against the Indianapolis Indians (61-36).
