Lawrenceville announce Christmas parade route, road closures

Lawrenceville’s Hometown Christmas Parade with the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdale horses will begin in the Downtown Square near the intersection of Pike and Perry Streets at 7 p.m. Friday. The parade will begin at the staging area at 240 Oak Street, then continue south on Perry Street, east on Nash Street then turn northward on Clayton Street to Pike Street, turning west. After reaching Perry Street again, the parade will go north and return to the starting point on Oak Street.

Commuters and parade attendees are advised to expect heavy traffic delays throughout the day on Friday. Access in and around downtown Lawrenceville will be extremely limited and parking in the immediate Historic Square will not be available. However, the Downtown Parking Deck will be open and accessible from the Crogan Street entrance until 5 p.m. after which, it will only be accessible from the Pike Street (left lane entrance off Chestnut Street) side.

Additionally, there are several alternative options for parade parking throughout the Downtown District including the Gwinnett Justice & Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, The Lawrenceville Lawn, 210 Luckie Street, City of Lawrenceville Fleet Maintenance Shop, 20 South Clayton St., and City of Lawrenceville City Hall, 70 South Clayton St.
