Players will get two extra hours come Monday to win bonus money from the Georgia Lottery’s popular KENO! game, after a computer glitch last week caused the system to reject nearly $35,000 in winnings.
The problem happened during a two-hour promotion last Monday, which was supposed to award KENO! players a 30 percent bonus payout on winning tickets.
The glitch, however, meant an untold number of players were not paid the extra winnings.
The lottery is honoring all winning tickets from last Monday’s promotion. Players can bring their winning tickets or receipts to a Georgia Lottery district office or mail them to the Georgia Lottery to claim the 30 percent bonus payout.
A spokeswoman said while the lottery can’t determine the number of winners who were affected, less than 10 percent of KENO! winnings for that day – approximately $35,000 – were impacted.
Monday’s new promotion will run four hours from 5-9 p.m., rather thanthe tweo origianlly planned.
