Marietta police have cleared a man as a person of interest in connection with shots fired near a school bus this month.

Malcom Ivy turned himself in to police Tuesday after he saw his picture in the news media in connection with the Nov. 9 incident, police said Wednesday.

Ivy apparently was misidentified as the alleged shooter by a witness, investigators said after interviewing him.

In the incident, the bus driver saw a man firing shots toward a house in front of where the bus was stopped at McIntosh Avenue and McArthur Drive, police said.

The driver pulled the students back, closed the doors and called 911, police said. The person left in a blue-and-white SUV. No one was injured.

The investigation is ongoing, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call the police tip line at 770-794-6990.
