Teenage male athletes wear 'Wild Feminist' shirts to combat 'locker room banter'

Teenagers at one Oregon high school took a stand against lewd comments that Donald Trump recently dismissed as "locker room banter."

Six male student-athletes posed for a photo wearing T-shirts that read "Wild Feminist." The teens stood in a locker room at Centennial High School in Gresham, Oregon. The six are players on the school's basketball, football, soccer and cross country teams, The Huffington Post reported.

The photo came days after a 2005 audio leak exposed a conversation between Republican presidential candidate Trump and former "Access Hollywood" host Billy Bush, in which Trump said he "just kisses" women without asking because his famous status allows him to "do anything."

"Sexual assault is not locker room banter," Centennial High School wrote in the photo's caption.

"It's very important to speak out about this, because it has to be known that there are men out there that support women and women's rights," 17-year-old Rhys Atkinson, pictured far left, told The Huffington Post. "I believe in the equality of everyone. Everyone deserves the same rights, and it's not fair that women can be degraded through speech or actions."

Atkinson said he spends a lot of time in the locker room and around other student-athletes.

"We definitely don't talk in a way that could degrade women," he told HuffPo. "Generally, I talk about what I want to do in my future for sports."

The Centennial students are among many athletes who have taken a stand against Trump's comments being called "locker room talk."
