Showtime and Stephen Colbert are teaming up to lampoon President Donald Trump.
The cable television network has given the CBS late night host the green light to produce a 10-episode series that focuses on Trump, his families and White House insiders.
It will be in the form of a cartoon, according to a press release from Showtime. The series, which is still unnamed, blossomed from Colbert's Showtime special on election night last November and a character from "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."
Showtime said production time will be quick which will allow it to be nearly up to the minute when it comes to ever-changing current events.
The show will be produced by CBS Television Studios and executive produced by Colbert and Chris Licht.
The new series joins Showtime’s look at the Trump administration and the scandals surrounding the 2016 presidential election, like “The Circus,” which not only shone a light on the election, but also follows Trump’s first 100 days in office, “The Putin Interviews” a sit-down interview between Oliver Stone and Russian President Vladimir Putin and “Risk,” a look at Julian Assange and WikiLeaks.
The Trump cartoon will air this fall on Showtime, Variety reported.
