There will be a public memorial Saturday for James Odis Wyatt, a former Fulton County leader who died Jan. 12, family members say.

Wyatt was known to friends as J.O. and he held public service positions including Fulton County commissioner and deputy district director of the U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission.

He was also well known in the community for his love of playing the tenor saxophone.

“His saxophone case was his briefcase,” his sister, Thelma Wyatt Moore, said in a statement.

Friends and family say his memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
