The fast food chain is investing in Atlanta's historic westside.

Vine City, a historic Westside neighborhood in the shadow of Mercedes-Benz Stadiumis poised to get its first Chick-fil-A.

Leaders including Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy, franchise owner Quincy Springs, Atlanta COO Dan Gordon and City Councilman Ivory Young met Thursday for a site dedication event at 875 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

The restaurant’s foundation has already been poured. It will sit on the original site of Paschal’s Restaurant, a Southern restaurant that is now located in Castleberry Hill, Channel 2 Action News said.

Cathy called Springs a “gifted leader who inspires people through creativity.”

“He is well known in Vine City and shares my passion and interest in the residents who live there and will work alongside him,” Cathy said.

The fast food restaurant is expected to create about 90 jobs when it opens in early 2018. It’s located near the Ashby MARTA station and a Walmart, where Springs previously worked as store manager.
