The repair of a 30-inch water main in northwest Atlanta will take longer than initially expected.

The northbound lane closure on Moores Mill Road NW near the Bolton Road and Coronet Way intersection is “extended to 60 to 75 days,” according to city officials. The closure, which was initially issued from Jan. 2 to 5, may last until March 25.

Officials said the extension is due to the need of a specialty pipe that must be produced by a manufacturer.

“Repairs will resume once the parts are received,” according to a press release. “As a safety precaution, traffic control devices will remain in place to guide motorists around the work zone.”
