Fixed! Cobb County

In late March, we told you about Tom Bigelow’s problem with a busy intersection.

Bigelow said the Silver Comet Connector intersection at South Cobb Drive and the East West Connector was relatively safe until the construction of a new convenience store.

“Now, west bound traffic can enter/exit the store across the path of the Silver Comet Connector from the East West Connector. There are no markings on the pavement to indicate that this is a pedestrian/bicycle pathway. White diagonal striping, at a minimum should be required,” he said.

We heard back from Bigelow.

“I was very surprised and happy to see the fast remedy. Many thanks to you and our Cobb County officials for making an accident waiting to happen less likely,” he wrote.

New item-Atlanta

Patsy Beall is tired of dodging cars at one of the city’s busiest intersections.

“There are near miss accidents all the time at Peachtree and Lenox roads. The two lanes that come from Ga. 400 are supposed to go straight on Lenox Road. There is a ‘no left turn’ sign, but it is beside the right lane where no one sees it. It needs to be moved to the left of the left lane because that lane frequently turns left in front of two northbound turn lanes that come up the ramp from the Buckhead Loop,” she said.

We sent the item to the city and will keep you updated.

New item-Interstate signage

Sugar Hill’s Ramon Cancilleri is concerned over interstate signs.

“A number of signs on the overhead posts have delaminated interstate logos coming up I- 75, from Henry County towards Lawrenceville,” he wrote.

Cancilleri said he noticed a lot of drivers this past weekend slowing down while approaching various exits or lane changes.

“With the I-85 disaster, many folks from out of town passing through our area are not familiar with all the detour routes around our city. I-285 signage appeared to be peeling completely off on a couple overheads,” he added.

We sent the item to the DOT and will let you know when it is fixed.
