Suwanee Sweetheart Sprint returning for 7th year

Lace up your running shoes, the Suwanee Sweetheart Sprint 5K is back for its seventh consecutive year.

The race, run by the Rotary Club of Buford/North Gwinnett, is a qualifier for the AJC Peachtree Road Race. It will be held Feb. 10, starting at Town Center Park and following the Suwanee Creek Greenway.

Registration costs $28 per person or $45 for a pair of runners. If you wait until the day of the race to register, it will cost $35 for one runner and $55 for two. Runners will receive a long-sleeve Dri-fit shirt to wear during the race and a goodie bag (including chocolate) to enjoy after. Runners are encouraged to wear Valentine’s Day-themed costumes.

Awards will be given to the top male and female runners overall, top male and female masters, the fastest dog, the oldest finisher and the top three racers in 15 age groups. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the race begins at 10 a.m.
