Some Powder Springs roads will be closed for weekend events

Some road will be closed for two events in Powder Springs on Friday and Saturday.

The Town Square at 4488 Pineview Drive will be closed from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday for the Christmas Tree Lighting, including live entertainment, hot chocolate, cookies and pictures with Santa.

From 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, road closures will include Lancer Drive from Macedonia Road to the Wildhorse Trail entrance for the Reindeer 5K Fun Run to benefit the Angel Trees.

Also during those times, Macedonia Road will be closed at Lancer Drive and Hopkins Road at the trail crossing.

The race begins at the Wildhorse Creek Park, 3820 Macedonia Road by the lower ball field on the Wildhorse Trail and will loop back to the park for hot cocoa and cookies.
