Sewer line needs relocation in Duluth’s Parsons Alley development

A portion of the existing sanitary sewer line in downtown Duluth serving Building 600 of the Parsons Alley development and several stores fronting on Main Street must be relocated. The relocation is needed to accommodate the Building 600 footprint and to bypass the existing Town Green gazebo.

According to city officials, the issue has already caused more than a two-month delay in the project. The initial Town Green trees were planted directly above some current sewer lines and therefore one tree will be lost due to the use of heavy equipment. The project will disrupt a small portion of the Town Green and most likely require lane closures for West Lawrenceville due to the size of the site. There are new water lines in the area, as well.
