A Hall County school bus was involved in a crash Thursday.

Three people, including a child, were injured after a minivan crashed head-on into a Gainesville school bus carrying students Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Soleil Nyasamaza, 23, of Gainesville, was charged with failure to yield at a stop sign, Georgia State Patrol officials said.

She hit a truck making a left turn and traveled in the path of a school bus, Georgia State Patrol Sgt. A.J. Allen said in a news release.

Nyasamaza was in her 2005 Toyota Sienna at the intersection of Vineyard Way and Ga. 53 when she hit a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, Allen said.

The driver of this minivan was freed and taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Nyasamaza’s van continued traveling across a median and into oncoming traffic, where she struck the school bus head-on, according to the release. The bus veered to the left and crossed the median before coming to a stop, Allen said.

The bus was carrying students from Gainesville Exploration Academy, according to Jeremy H. Williams, superintendent of the Gainesville City School System. Another bus arrived to pick up the students and take them home.

A child on the bus complained of minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital, Allen said. No other injuries were reported on the bus.

Nyasamaza and her passenger, Johnson Mukuku, 34, of Gainesville, were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with minor injuries, Allen said.

Occupants of the Chevrolet Tahoe were not injured.
