At a Buford Highway Mexican restaurant, inspectors reported finding rusty prep areas and cooked lamb kept more than seven days.
Norcross' Restaurant Michoacan Y Neveria scored a 57 on its recent health inspection.
Officials found a rusty shelf on one of the prep tables and a number of items, such as sugar and oil, not labeled, according to the inspector's report.
Beans were stored at temperatures too high and improper containers. The beans were thrown away.
Tomatoes were moved to a shelf in the walk-in cooler after being stored in the wrong kind of cooler.
Manager Miguel Angel said new health codes have caused the restaurant problems.
Restaurants that fail inspections are generally inspected again in 10 days. Angel said the restaurant will be in order.
"There are some appliances that need to be removed and brought up to date because the codes have changed," he said.
