The Roswell Adult Aquatic Center, previously reserved for participants 50 years old and older, will be opened to adults age 25 and up starting Aug. 1, the city’s Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department announced.

Also, hours will be extended to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and to 6 p.m. Saturdays (for lap swim only). Officials said the facility hadn’t been heavily used by the 50-plus crowd those times, and the later hours are convenient for those swimming after work. New evening fitness classes will include Aqua Aerobics and Hydro Mix.

The Aquatic Center at 830 Grimes Bridge Road offers a five-lane, warm-water therapeutic swimming pool, zero-depth entry, therapeutic whirlpool and showers. It also provides aquatic therapy for special-needs individuals. Information: http://bit.ly/2u7dKiU

“We received a lot of feedback from the 49 and below adult community in regard to the age limit of the Aquatic Center and their desire to utilize the center to improve their health and wellness,” said Jeff Pruitt, interim director of Roswell parks. “Making this change to allow more residents to benefit from the RAAC made great sense.”
